Tim Duncan writes-in Ron Paul

SAN ANTONIO, TX–All across the country today, millions of Americans will be exercising their right to elect their next president, a tradition carried on unbroken every four years since 1789. In the lead-up to Election Day, many celebrities and other public figures have been busy endorsing their candidate of choice, and urging people across the country to get out and vote. One of these celebrities was San Antonio Spurs power forward/center Tim Duncan, who had been very active in registering San Antonio residents to vote for their next commander-in-chief, as well as taking time to give stump speeches on the state of the country. Duncan had declined to specify who he was endorsing for the Top Job, saying that he didn’t want to appear partisan and greedy.

Unsurprisingly, when Duncan reported his local polling station early Tuesday morning, a cache of reporters followed in tow. The media asked Duncan who exactly he was casting his ballot for, and much to their surprise, Duncan pulled back the curtain on his political views.

”I proudly wrote-in Congressman Ron Paul, the man I believe is the last, best hope of the Republic,” said a stoic Duncan. ”Ron Paul is the only choice of liberty-loving Americans.”

SO this is what the Ron Paul revolution has come to: It's big news when a over the hill NBA player writes in Paul.

About SSNN said:
The Serious Sports News Network was conceived in late 2006 by a loving father (of the website, not a human) and an equally loving young… protegé, for lack of a better term. Ever since, this site has been attempting to build an unending reservoir of sports satire pieces – ranging from the harmless, fun-loving brief to the bitingly sarcastic diatribe. Given the relative impossibility of a literally unending reservoir (of anything, not just satire) we’ve ultimately settled for slowly building a pretty big cache. We aim primarily to entertain - should we stumble upon some interesting social commentary or perhaps the occasional hidden message, all the better. You can always email us and tell us how poorly (or how well) we’re doing our job – serioussportsnews@gmail.com. Commenting on individual pieces is always encouraged. Oh, and please try our madlibs!!

Galileo, do you quote The Onion for evidence as well.

Sorry, brother d, but Tim Duncan is not over the hill. He's still very, very good on the basketball court.

As to his vote, alleged or otherwise, I'm fine with him voting Ron Paul. One less vote for Nader, as I see it.

No. I demonstrated that the site you are quoting stating that Tim Duncan is voting for Ron Paul is a satire page. When I asked you what satire meant to you, you seemed to claim satire is something you believe to be false.

Hence, by your definition, Tim Duncan is not voting for Ron Paul.

When this was pointed out to you, you went off on a non sequitur regarding waiting until the votes were counted (as if that would somehow demonstrate whether or not TD votes for RP).

Anyway, I am glad we are all agreed that Tim Duncan did not declare his support for Ron Paul, and that you have either proven you cannot research your way out of a wet paper bag, or that you are simply offering a performance art piece where you demonstrate that Poe's Law always applies to CTists.

Thanks, good night, and good luck.

You've got the sense of humor of CIA Pop.

Tim Duncan is averaging 29.5 points per game this season!

Tim Duncan is the greatest basketball player of all time, and he is still only 32 years old!

He's maybe in the top ten. Lets see, better players off the top of my head...

Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
Magic Johnson
Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Wilt Chamberlain
Bill Russell
Shaq O'Neil
Oscar Robinson

Um...Ron Paul isn't even RUNNING anymore.

Plus, he endorsed whoever the numbskull is that ran on the Constitution Party ticket, so we see how much influence Paul has over those that listen to him...

In a twist of irony, this is a party with an extremely Christian bent that more or less wants to apply the heavy hand of religion with force of law. Not completely unlike what the One True Church was up to in the time of a certain person offering a unique view of astronomy.

So we have someone trying to play the part of the noble scientist oppressed by religion, following a candidate that endorsed a presidential candidate that wishes our government to be guided by religion...

Ironic that...

Let's compare the first ten years of each's career:

Tim Duncan

9 times, 1st-team, all-NBA
2 MVPs
3 Final's MVPs
4 NBA chamionships

TOTAL = 18

None of the other players you listed have a total of 18 of the four major NBA accomplishements in their first 10 years.

Natta.

Duncan is the Best.

Care to comment as to how you, a person who identifies with a man who was unjustly persecuted by religion, justifies any support whatsoever for a man, Ron Paul, that endorsed Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party Candidate, a candidate whose main platform is to increase the power of religion in government?

The Constitution Party gratefully acknowledges the blessing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States. We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States.

This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been and are afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.

The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries.

The Constitution of these United States provides that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." The Constitution Party supports the original intent of this language. Therefore, the Constitution Party calls on all those who love liberty and value their inherent rights to join with us in the pursuit of these goals and in the restoration of these founding principles.

The U.S. Constitution established a Republic rooted in Biblical law, administered by representatives who are Constitutionally elected by the citizens. In such a Republic all Life, Liberty and Property are protected because law rules.

Sad that you seem to support the advocation of the same power of religion that hamstringed your namesake....

So according to you, the running total is now:

OBAMA: 63,042,806
MCCAIN: 55,821,650
PAUL: 1

Truly a great day for the rEVOLution. :p
