I'd like to know more about Swami Rama and especially the quality of the scientific tests that he participated in. The believers say that he could, for example, move objects and control his heart beat using only his mind. I don't believe in his special abilities, but could use some more info regarding the case.

It's an excerpt from the book "Beyond Biofeedback" and deals with the aforementioned scientific experiments. I'm now about half way through reading the text..

He is especially notable as one of the first yogis to allow himself to be studied by Western scientists. In the 1960s he allowed himself to be examined by scientists at the Menninger Clinic who studied his ability to voluntary control bodily processes (such as heartbeat, blood pressure, body temperature, etc.) that are normally considered to be non-voluntary (autonomic).
