This is just plain retarded

Interesting that there is no mention of Guy Fawkes in the article, the catholic conspirator in the original event. The article calls it "V masks", betraying total ignorance about a centures-old English custom. Maybe they don't want to be reminded about what happened to Guy?

But, heck, these guys don't understand their own country, so no surprise they don't bother about foreigners...

If I were Alan Moore I would be so **** off...

It reminds me of how many geeks ran around with dark glasses and coats pretending to be Neo when The Matrix came out.

Can't they at least be original, for once?

They probably don't realise that V is promoting anarchy, in its strictest sense as "without government" which does not necessarily mean chaos (as THEY would have you believe ;) ).

This is actually more up front in the graphic novel than in the film

However, photographers, reporters, and tourists responded well to the rich imagery provided by the WTP demonstration. The appearance of dozens of “Vs” delivering such a message was attention getting to say the least.

Yes, because you look like a bunch of dopes who lost their way to the Halloween party.

And are still lost.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Right to Petiton. Nothing there about a Right to a Response.

Typical quote mining :)

Didn't the DC police have an issue with all thses people running around in masks, especially right in front of the White House? Many communities have laws against going around in public while wearing a mask.

Not to mention exercising the fair use clause in the protection of intellectual property.

"...The number of photographers and reporters declined at this point, but the interest among the picture-taking tourists did not..."

Note to 'R-tards' they are laughing at you not with you.

I found their navel-gazing comments really quite sad and somewhat embarassing.

After V for Vendetta was released into the theaters, I'm sure a few members of the Truth Movement thought that the film would be the smoking gun that would serve as the evidence that they would need.
