The 'War On God'. Again.

Interesting.

All the statments of denial about the War on God (Religion, Christianity, etc.) won't make the war go away.

Nor will those denials make those of us who have been physically attacked for believing in a divine creator believe that we haven't been physically attacked for believing in a divine creator.

War on God????

Come on. If God is half the bad ass he's supposed to be, I'm pretty sure he can hiold his own.

Let us all shout Happy Hannukah! on the New York subways!

When I was in third grade, I believed Amy Graham, a girl in my class, was in love with me. Several people told me she wasn't. They even showed me a love letter she wrote to Donnie Huggins, another classmate of ours, and pointed out that she sat with him at lunch everyday.

I'll never forgive those cruel people for their War on Amy.

Damn them...have they no decency?

It could be worse. In college, the girl I had a huge crush on started dating my best friend in college. They were in her dorm room (down the hall from me) and one of my other "buddies" said, "Heh, he's probably in there (doing something) right up her (something)."

What a swell friend!

The epitome of 'With friends like these...'

There's no "war" going on... and I'm guessing, based on your posts, that you're the sort of guy who finds trouble even where there isn't any.

It's really easy to beat up an Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy. Since they don't exist they can't fight back. It would be a completely different case if one of these all powerful, all loving, all punishing, bad tempered, forgiving, judgmental paradoxes actually did exist, but since they don't any 5 year old can win a war against <insert fictional deity>.

And there are so many to choose from too. Almost all of them are exclusive of each of the other. Sometimes it's a challenge picking just one Imaginary Bearded Sky Daddy to beat up on, but it sure is fun.

Come on, man. Maybe I'm confusing you with another poster, but I don't remember such immature comments coming from you before.

Yes, all atheists please gather at the pre-designated gathering area (as stated in the newsletter) so that we can go out and beat the utter crap out of Christians.

That kinda doesn't happen. Has it occured to you that the losers who beat you up because you said that you believed in god were the (sad) exception to the rule? Are all Christians being attacked because you were (once)? Did these guys (just a guess here) beat up other people having nothing to do with religious differences? Seriously, I'd like to think that a majority of the atheists here, seeing such an attack for such a reason, would have either helped you (if they were feeling brave) or at least not helped the guys beating the crap out of you (if the weren't feeling so brave). I wonder if the guy attacked for saying Happy Hannukah feels like you do...

Is there a war on the beliefs of Christianity? I'd be willing to say that there is. But it's not a shooting war unless, like you, that's what you're hoping to find. Be the better person and own up to that much.

Were you really attacked for your beliefs? My money is that, if an attack happened at all, it was over your delightful personality. I would say that inquiring minds want to know but that would be a lie. :p

"You’ve mentioned the fact that you’re not allowed to have Christ at Christmas. I mean, I went to a Christmas store this week. It didn’t have anything about Jesus. It had all sorts of funny little ornaments in it, but nothing about the holiday. People are tired of that."

Note to Tony Snow: never visit Japan in December. Your head will a splode.
