As many of you know tomorrow is Friday the 13th.

So i decided to try my luck at becoming the unluckiest guy in the world

I've figured i can accomplish this by breaking a mirror, opening an umbrella in a house, letting a black cat cross my path, stepping under a latter, stepping over a grave, and spilling salt without tossing it over my shoulder.

But i feel that is not enough.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions on ways i can jinx myself

Let a bird into your house and throw a hat on the bed.

Become a Shakespearean actor and then say "Macbeth" repeatedly.

stepping under a latter
I think you mean "ladder"...

Actually, this one is probably the only thing I do, but not for any superstitious reasons. It just isn't safe to do... People frequently drop things off ladders, ladders can slide down the wall, you could accidently knock it down, etc.

Granted, I may have a somewhat biased opinion of ladders, given my father's attempts at home renovation.

It may be a little late because it is already friday the 13th in Japan but you can try some superstitions from this part of the world

- Sleep towards the north.
- Cut your nails in the night
- Get as many things as you can that have a number 4 on it (or in groups of 4)
- Show your thumbs when a funeral car passes close to you
- Whistle in the night
- Use somebody else's comb

Wow, never heard any of those. Are they Japanese superstitions?

These are great!

I think i can pull off allot of it

Now, do you think i have to let the funeral car pass by me, or can i just walk up to a empty one and flash it the thumbs up.

Also i'm guessing its head toward the north, correct.

Thinking about going down to the casino once i'm done to see how well it works

Keep em coming

I have a whole book entitled "Superstitions". Let me get it...

Stir your companion's coffee for them.
Spill milk.
Open a boiled egg at the small end.
Wear your shirt inside-out.
Tear a button off your shirt and sew it on while you're still wearing it.
Put a shoe on the table.
Point the knife on your table setting toward you.
Put a daffodil on your table with the head hanging toward you.
Meet a left-handed man on a day besides Tuesday.

If you are a man, become a sailor and take a woman aboard the ship.

If you are a woman, just board a ship.

In either case, for extra bad luck, kill an albatross*.

* Actually, please don't.

If you wanna be really unlucky, make sure to cut yourself when breaking the mirror, to tip the latter over on top of you while walking under it, try giving a black cat a bath... you'll be bruised and battered!

:D

Only 2 hours into Friday and here's what I've got accomplished

Went out for a smoke at midnight and made sure to use the same match as my 2 friends, being sure to be the 3rd. Did some whistling while i was out there, also caught sight of the moon over my left shoulder.

While outside the neighborhood cats went by, one of them black. The black one didn't want anything to do with me and crossed in front of me while running under a car.

Went inside and borrowed their umbrella and opened it over my head. Also tossed it on the ground which is supposed to be even worse.

While leaving I made sure to step on as many cracks as a could. At the last one I tripped and staggered. Which would be considered bad luck, if not for the fact that I needed to trip or stagger as I start a journey.

I gotta get some sleep so i can get an early start in the morning. Those mirrors aren't gonna break themselves

Send in any more Ideas as you think of them
