A surprising number of people seem to be taken in by this charlatan, who speaks out of both sides of his mouth on vaccines.

This is RFK spouting non-stop lies to his followers about vaccines and how they have caused a "Holocaust" and then in some interviews denying that he is an anti-vaxxer. It covers a fair amount of his slippery conman act that some people, unbelievably, fall for.

It's made by a guy on Twitter who goes by the handle, The Real Truther. He's done a yeoman's job of combatting Covid contrarianism in general, but he's been particularly good on vaccines and the idiotic alt meds that contrarians have pushed.

This sort of shtick is easy to do if you just say what you need at the time, and forget what you said more than 10 minutes ago. I don't think he's even got a true position on vaccines. I don't think he has researched the subject or thought it through in any depth. Like using a dead bear-cub as a joke, and strapping a whale-head to the roof of the car. The worm ate the bit of his brain that did "good judgement calls".

Either the worm ate too much or not enough of his brain.

Before you posted this, did you bother to read anything on the other side? I used to think just like you do about people who question vaccine safety, but then I decided I should read at least a few of their sources. There are plenty of medical scientists who support RFK Jr.'s concerns about certain vaccines, but you never hear about them in our Big Pharma-dominated news media. Have you read RFK Jr.'s thoroughly documented short book A Letter to Liberals? Have you read Senator (and Dr.) Rand Paul's book Deception: The Great COVID Cover-Up?

Here are some sources that are available online:

If you read Dick Russell's book The Real RFK Jr., you'll see that he soundly debunks the myth that Kennedy's 2005 Rolling Stone article "Deadly Immunity" was "refuted by scientists." It was not, and has not been.

It's always a good idea, and in keeping with the principles of critical thinking, to read both sides of the story before reaching conclusions about it.

Finally, you should be aware that RFK Jr. has gotten all the standard vaccines except the COVID vaccine, and that his children have done so as well. He is not against vaccines per se; his main point is that vaccines should have to undergo the same safety trials that prescription drugs have to undergo.

Ooo! Del Bigtree's anti-vax mob! Sure, I'm going to give them credence! LOL :D
Aah, your own anti-vax page. Jolly good. ;)

We have. Conclusion: Usual anti-vax raving nonsense. Being an anti-vaxxer is like seeing someone else choke on food, so they swear off eating for life.

There are many different types of COVID vaccine, made by different methods and using different modes of operation. They include the standard manufacturing methods used for decades for other vaccines which he has (apparently) taken. So specifically which ones has RFK Jr. not had, pray tell?

There's a cost/benefit analysis to be done on the use of any medicine at any time. When you're in the middle of a pandemic and thousands of people are dying every day from a novel virus, that cost/benefit analysis might produce a different recommendation than when you're the umpteenth person to take a medicine whose possible side effects are well quantified and understood.

Having said that, afaik all the covid vaccines were required to have completed phase 3 clinical trials before being rolled out.

Okay, Mike, which vaccines does RFK Jr think are safe and that he would recommend, and which ones does he think are dangerous and will lead to extremely bad health outcomes?

Wow. Mike actually cited his own blog as a supporting source?

Yeah, this is gonna be great.

President-elect Donald Trump suggested that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his pick to run Health and Human Services, will investigate supposed links between autism and childhood vaccines, a discredited connection that has eroded trust in the lifesaving inoculations.

“I think somebody has to find out,” Trump said in an exclusive interview with “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker. Welker noted in a back-and-forth that studies have shown childhood vaccines prevent about 4 million deaths worldwide every year, have found no connection between vaccines and autism, and that rises in autism diagnoses are attributable to increased screening and awareness. “If you go back 25 years ago,” Trump claimed, “you had very little autism. Now you have it.”
Thanks Trump cultists. Thanks for setting things back a century or two.

O fall the Bad Trump appontments, RFK Jr might be the worst.
At the good side, This is 1000% a transactinal appointment..Trump feels no loyalty to RFK....and if RFK becomaes an embarassment he will be foreced out.

Trump doesn't give a diddley damn about public health. He's too busy being his own Home Shopping Network. This is an actual ad for his crap $200 perfume. What a piece of scum he is.

Sure, I know he doesn't care.

Unlike RFK Jr, of course, who has, somewhere pointed out which vaccines are safe and which are deadly poison. I just need a student of RFK to point out which are which.

Yeah, this is gonna be great.

For the record, "autism" was not even described as a specific diagnosis until 1944. Before that, it was a whole bunch of unrelated conditions of various, changing names, and was known for centuries. Autism has not become more prevalent recently, nor are the spectrum conditions new. It is just that the diagnosis, identification and classification has evolved in recent decades. And continues to evolve even today.

Not that MAGA or Trump would understand this situation in the slightest! They just want to call such people by horrible names and bully them. Scum.

We know all this, but Trump cultists do not, or refuse to recognize it. Add to that the disturbing number of conspiracy-minded credules among U.S. voters that ignore the fact that the vaccines = autism trope has long been debunked makes me fear that the actual truth will not win out in this latest re-litigation.

The latest magat cultist nonsense concerning this interaction is that Jill Biden actually voted for Trump, and in fact, is lusting over their mushroom-dicked, pancake make-up wearing, diaper- ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ cult hero.

Oh, certainly on all counts. It just seems to please the credules to actually have something to cling to as a crutch for their anti-vax stance that seems scientific. Challenging that with facts means they have to give up a core part of their belief system, which is all their self-worth consists of. Once one card falls, the whole house of cards is in jeopardy. Can't have that!

Once upon a time it was known as "fairies stole my baby and left me a changeling".

How does RFK jr. know anything about vaccine safety? He's not a doctor, much less an immunologist.

Agreed. It's just being diagnosed more as people have become more aware of it and not because cases have actually increased. People with autism were just called weirdos, 'retarded', etc before.

Idiots.

I should have been clearer that I am being sarcastic. RFK Jr is an ambulance chasing conman who somehow manages to persuade people susceptible to presentation skills over genuine knowledge. He's essentially a conspiracy theorist which is why almost everyone who agrees with him tend to also believe in all kinds of other conspiracy theories from 9/11 being an inside job, to *looks at Mike Griffiths's website* FDR let Pearl Harbor get attacked on purpose, etc...

I think it's important to note that the rise of vaccines coincides pretty well with the decline of neurasthenia. I mean if we're going to make up correlations, let's go for it.

I am puzzled why Trump did not fob him off with being head of a commision on Public Health or make him an advisor classic ways without givinof paying off a political debt without giving anybody real power...as I think Musk is going to discover.,.....

Lying again, Mikey boy?

Quelle surprise!

Yep, a big gold star to wear in public. But then Trump is not that smart. And he doesn't give a damn about public health. Or public anything, for that matter.

Let's hope this nutbag doesn't do to the U.S. what he did to Samoa.

‘We learned the hard way’: Samoa remembers a deadly measles outbreak and a visit from RFK Jr.

The roots of the tragedy stretch back to July 2018 and the deaths of two babies due to a medical error in the administration of an MMR vaccine, after the vaccine powder was mixed with expired muscle relaxant anaesthetic instead of water. The government shut down the vaccination programme for 10 months to investigate – allowing thousands of babies to go unvaccinated, against World Health Organization advice, and creating space for rumours to take hold.

During the same period, Kennedy, who denies being anti-vaccine, had been hosted in Samoa. He visited four months before the measles outbreak was declared, in October 2019, meeting with government officials and anti-vaccine influencers in what health advocates and Ekeroma claim was a “significant disinformation campaign” stoking distrust in vaccines.

Kennedy and his wife, Cheryl Hines, were special guests at Samoa’s 57th independence celebrations in June 2019, as part of a trip that came about after the anti-vaccination non-profit group Kennedy founded, Children’s Health Defense, connected with vocal Samoan vaccine critic and traditional healer Edwin Tamasese.
Tamasese was arrested during the measles epidemic for incitement against a government vaccination order. The charges against Tamasese were later dropped, with a judge citing insufficient evidence.

Kennedy, who would later hail Tamasese as a “hero” in a blog post and describe the epidemic as “mild”, also met with the Australian Samoan anti-vaccine influencer Taylor Winterstein. She posted a photo of the pair to her social media using anti-vax hashtags, saying his visit was “profoundly monumental” for the movement.

Months after his visit, Kennedy wrote a letter to then-Samoan prime minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi urging him to consider if children’s deaths were caused by a “defective” vaccine or a “mutant strain” of measles caused by it. Neither is plausible.

I am puzzled why Trump did not fob him off with being head of a commision on Public Health or make him an advisor classic ways without givinof paying off a political debt without giving anybody real power...as I think Musk is going to discover.,.....
Maybe he realizes that if he wants to be the smartest person in the room the pool of greater fools than himself is limited. Or maybe he just really believes all that ◊◊◊◊.

If memory serves me correctly, the host of the blog Respectful Insolence wrote that he cringes when journalists refer to RFK, Jr. as a vaccine skeptic. Rational skepticism is one thing, but simply being anti-vaccination is something entirely different. My concern is that I have no idea how he comes to his beliefs or what it would take to get him to change his mind.
