I expect that Sessions has regretted not sticking around the Senate about as soon as he started working for that piece of crap Trump.

Remember when Regan was dictator in Chief and his lackeys went to prison for lying to congressional committees? Ah, the good old days.

Yep, this won't go well for him.

I'm not so sure. Sessions is still within Trump's good graces, so accepting an invitation to testify doesn't mean anything necessarily. He could be going there to tow the administration banner, or even to do nothing but pointedly stonewall like the IC chiefs.

Given the rumors that he's already talked resignation, I wouldn't be too sure about that. Let's face it: Sessions can't get out of this administration without his reputation taking a monstrous beating (since it already has), so the idea of him sitting down in front of senators - especially in a closed session - and saying something that starts with "I hate to say it but..." isn't outside the realm of possibility.

I predict a flood of members of the administration looking for a way to get out and look good doing it by taking "principled" shots at the beast.

You have to think he saw it as a path to the great prize. Serve loyally for four years and become the anointed successor. Sounds like a reasonable plan, right? Otherwise he's just another senator of a dozen in the next primary circus.

As things have turned out he'll probably settle for getting out alive. So he peaks at Senator : that's hardly a failed political career, is it?

He has already lied in Senate testimony before.
Lied, mispoke, whatever. If it mattered something would have been done about it, obviously. Until a pattern of such behaviour emerges that won't change.

The more chances Sessions gets to establish such a pattern the better, because I'm sure he's got it in him. If he tells the truth it'll be even better.

So he'll corroborate Trump, Comey will be the ass and all the Shillaries who should hate the latter if they'd care for basic consistancy will whine on to the next station of this slow motion train wreck. Super lame entertainment.
