The All Purpose Hillary Clinton Thread

In the fullness of time , I wonder if she will be known as the vilest female politician of modern times . And a convicted criminal .

Vice Presidential Poll

Who would you like to see run as Hillary's Vice President?
Sen. Bernie Sanders
Sen. Elizabeth Warren
Sec. Julian Castro
Sen. Cory Booker
Sec. Tom Perez
Sen. Tim Kaine
Rep. Xavier Becerra
Other

Why the heck are they doing this? Will the Clinton campaign really use this information to help choose a Vice Presidential candidate?

Hillary needs to find out who and what is popular, so she knows what she supports and how she feels.

I doubt it. But you can never havec too much information. It's a huge choice. My bet it's as much about staying in the news. Keeping the drama up. I notice Vilsack's name isn't on that list.

And the pick is usually not for her supporters but for swing voters. My guess is they vetted the hell out of their choices looking for the most dynamic best choice they could find.

Me, I'd be looking for that candidate who will pick up the torch and can sell Democratic values best.

I've never seen Perez, Castro or Becerra give a speech. I think I'd prefer Hillary choose more of a typical White Male as her running mate because I think it would help with White voters.

But my choice, out of that group if there wasn't factors like race or losing a senate seat would be Corey Booker. I like the guy a lot.

Hillary - so what are you going to wear today.

Elizabeth - I'm thinking of wearing blue. What are you going to wear?

Hillary - OMG! I was totally thinkimg of wearing blue also!

Elizabeth - Let's totally wear blue today!

Hillary and Elizabeth - Twinsies!

I notice we're seeing the typical intelligent Republican responses today.

Why is it Republicans NEVER EVER talk about issues like what they want to do to the American people and how hard they want to do it? They'd rather focus on what women are wearing than their ideas on how to improve the lives of everyday people.

Could it be that they don't have any ideas on how to do that, just ideas on how to help the rich and powerful?

irony.

I have a sincere question for our republican-leaning members, if I may:

What was the first thing Hillary did that made you despise her?

I have a much better question, because I won't bother answering yours as I am a self-admitted capital S Socialist and I despise her in a way I only despise Tony Blair among self-labelled left-leaning politicians.

Why do left-leaning voters not despise her for the lying, treachery (to women) and coziness to Wall Street she is guilty of?

Because she supports healthcare and college tuition assistance. It's because she supports a raise in the minimum wage. It's because she supports higher taxes on the wealthy and infrastructure spending that creates jobs for the middle class. It's because she works to protect the environment. Its because she supports equal pay for equal work. She supports a woman's right to control her own body. It's because she supports maternity leave. It's because her actions shows she cares about everyday people.

And the Republicans support none of these things. Next question.

I think you are trying to compare apples and pears. In any of the other democratic developed countries Clinton would be considered a rightwing politician. If you are expecting a USA politician that is labeled "left leaning" to actually be left leaning in terms the rest of the world uses you'll always be disappointed.

For instance the USA considers universal health care (as a right) to be a right/left issue whereas as you know in the rest of the developed world it is at best only a right and left issue in a matter of how it is funded. They also consider "liberal" to be a synonym for "left wing".

Sounds like stuff people say to please the masses when they want to be president.

Evidence?

All you need to see is her voting record. And these have been long standing goals of the Democratic Party. Republicans have traditionally been against all these things.
This is part of the Democratic party platform. None of this or anything like it is part of the Republican party platform.
It was Democrats that passed the New Deal and Great Society programs and Republicans tthat opposed them
Hillary voted for the Affordable Care Act. Something Donald Trump opposes.

Do I think Hillary will be able to pass legislation that accomplishes all this? If she gets a Democratic Congress, yes. If not, probably no. But there is zero chance any of this gets done if Trump is elected.
