Now, I wrote this when I was a christian but I hope you can see past this.

I got awarded a space in a Poetry Guild book because of this so I hope you like it.

Heaven, Homeland
Dean James McLean

Do not be afraid, little child, for above the golden
skies, lies a land of joy and harmony.
The glorious music that angels do sing and peace
is forever lasting, do not be afraid, as you
lie on your deathbed, awaiting his presence, be
excited for the land, that lies before you is of great joy!

The light towards you, the angels are there, and in the
centre, the throne there sits a power greater and
wiser than life can create. Hold his hand, as you reach
for his people, do not be afraid, little child, you will
not be alone, for your other hand, alone may it
be, will forever be held by your loving dear mother!

So little child, your time has come, and even
though you see me cry, please do not despair. So cast
your eyes upon the golden land of love and
harmony, for my child, you see, the love that
binds us together cannot be broken! So once more
my child, as the angels rejoice your presence, do
not fear as you go on through to that land they
call Heaven, do not forget, I love you!​
