It seems that there's no official dress code for any of the events at TAM, with "casual" being the general answer in the older threads I could find. What about the dress code for the evening activities, like Penn's bacon & donuts party or Max Maven's show? Will people be a little more dressed up for those?

Also, does anyone know if we'll be able to add other shows when we check in, or should we try and get in touch with JREF before we get to Vegas to add another show?

Welcome, clinzy!

Based on my experience last year the evening dress code is similar to the daytime. It is Vegas, so you will see folks in shorts and a nerd-themed t-shirt as well as some in what I would call business casual: khakis and a polo shirt. You are likely to need a light jacket during the conference sessions - because of the weather the air conditioning runs constantly.

You can buy tickets to the shows and workshops at registration, assuming they do not totally sell out which is unlikely. You can also add tickets online now - just use the same email address and name that you used on your original registration.

I'm not sure about the other stuff... but I believe anything (or nothing) will be acceptable for Penn's party.

It's pretty much shorts and t-shirts all weekend. Even the evening activities.

Thanks, all! Being from the work@home world, "style" for me = jeans and t-shirts more often than not. Fancy = a V-neck T-shirt and sandals instead of Converse with the jeans. It's a sad state of affairs for my fashion-conscious friends, but at least I'm comfy.

See you all in a few weeks!

I thought this was a silly question initially, but it might be amusing to all show up in black tie to an otherwise casual dress affair...

No worries, you'll fit right in at TAM. :)

It's not silly - I'm a planner.

Okay, maybe it's a little silly.

One note - no matter how you dress, Randi will show you his psychic abilities by making you feel underdressed. I'm not sure what would happen if you showed up in a tux...

If you're not used to sitting around on day in air conditioning be sure to cover up and bring a sweater. There's nothing worse than shivering inside when it's 100ª outside.

I'm going comfy/casual for TAM and ROCKIN' IT OUT for the Penn and Teller thing. Gonna "put on the dawg" as they say. Hell, IT'S VEGAS BABY!!!!!!!

Do I need to wear pants?

Just how "casual" are we talking here.
