I think Scrut is the one who usually starts these threads, but apparently he's abandoned his skeptical roots and may be in Brazil for the World Cup this year (so he says), so I thought I'd take a stab at starting it this time.

Unfortunately, too many important things are happening this year. Out of state weddings and graduations, to be specific. It is eating all of my vacation fund and PTO. I will not be making it to TAM this year. I'm completely willing to be in on the TAMbassador organization, but would someone like to volunteer for being the on-site contact?

I haven't been since TAM 8. Once again I have special commitments that will keep me away yet again. Sigh. Back to my cell? Yes, officer.

What's involved, aside from giving out buttons, and telling members when the "Secret Police" Meeting with DJ Grothe is taking place?

Welp. It's really too soon to put myself on the list. If work continues as it has, I might be able to pull this one off without much help. I just don't know yet. But I have my TAMbassador button, and will absolutely do that and volunteer if I can pull it off.

On another upside, because my flight was screwed up on the return last year, I have a $100 dollar voucher worth of SWA flight. That should help too. Here's hoping it all comes together.

That's about it. There are usually a few people who sign up for it that I don't recognize by sight so if I can't find them by then end of the day Thursday I give them to Kochanski with a list of who they go to. She sees everything and knows everyone.

And I have the few remaining ones from last year still. They are with the First TAMmer buttons. Forum table is a good central point for them to be given out so that you don't have to hunt down the individual who has them.

I don't see everything...especially if I haven't had enough coffee, but I do have a good view. I know lots of people but not everyone ;)

I'm sure we'll be able to divide these complex duties amongst ourselves. It's too bad you won't be there, though! :(

Are you going to provide the buttons? (Remember that bold, white text on dark orange is easier to read than thin, black text on dark orange.)

Otherwise, I might be able to order them, myself, as well.

Come on! If I can handle the organization of SkeptiCamp NYC, a bunch of dangerous outings that involved skydiving and SkyJumping, and a Cosmos viewing party; I think I can handle this!! Puh-leeeze!
