TAM 7 streaming live!

Thanks for posting! That's a pretty decent quality stream :)

Well, I have had it on almost all weekend -- great job everyone! Streaming quality was excellent, we got to experience the same tech difficulties the live audience did (minor, at best!) but I'd love to be there for the after-parties!

I just found it this afternoon, and have had a great time watching the TAM Talent Show. The stream was almost perfect, and it was very cool to be able to chat during it. Thanks to the JREF boffins!

Did the crowd reactions came through? It was a blast! (And I even skipped drinking this one night.)

We could hear the crowd when they clapped and laughed, yes.

It was fun to watch, and I'm sure it was fun to be there. I wasn't drinking either, but I considered having an early beer (2pm my time) to join in the drinking games. I had a good time anyway. :)

Please for the love of god a psychopath stalker that has spammed the Swift comments is now spamming the chat. Its utterly useless now.

Thank you for the live stream, it worked perfectly. Going to TAM in person is too far away for me, so this was great. Can't wait for TAM London.

Huge thanks to Jeff and Rich and anybody else who was involved in streaming TAM live this year. It was a blast to watch, and makes me want that much more to be there in person next year.

Thank you to Jeff and crew for an excellent porduction. Every year I wish I could go to TAM and planning and money never seem to align to allow me to attend, this was a wonderful substitute. (As I'm wont to say every year: NEXT YEAR!)

This doesn't completely replace going to TAM but I was very happy (almost giddy) to finally get a taste. My biggest problem was that I had too many distractions at home to sit and watch much more than a bit here and there.

As for the chat function on the UStream, it was acting wonky most of the time for me, so I couldn't even follow much of a conversation.

The stream worked perfect, and I totally enjoyed the live sessions, and watching Connie's test.

It was TAS!

I am trying to watch the recorded bit from Friday (just under the SGU wedding from Saturday morning) and it just stops. First it was stopping at just under three minutes, now it stops at four minutes.

Is the anti-anti-vax panel going to put on youtube?

thanks

It was excellent. But I only caught part of the talent show. Next year I'll know to plan ahead.

Thanks for providing the streaming service. The ustream streaming quality was very good. I watched hours of TAM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The ustream inserted ads were funny since they were targeting many of the things the JREF debunks (like psychic services). I assume they use some kind of keyword targetting.

I found out about JREF and TAM less than a year ago from the Geologic Podcast. I considered going to TAM, but I was hesitant to commit since it was all new to me. The live streaming was a great way to experience TAM, the next best thing to being there. Now I have a much better understanding of JREF and of TAM, and I will probably join JREF as a member and go to the next TAM.

The streaming video was the best surprise I've had in months. I missed all you TAM attendees terribly, but the stream (and the corresponding chat room) made me feel like I was there.

Huge, huge thanks to Jeff and Rich and everyone else who had a hand in setting up the stream and the cameras.

Thank you *so much* for the live stream. I watched half of Saturdays events and all of Sundays from my home in the UK.

It was great to actually see what goes on at a TAM, the wide-range of subjects covered - it certainly isn't a bash the woo-woos fest and how smoothly it all ran (though it seems there was alot of running about behind the scenes).

Congratulations to all. Hopefully, this will be a permanent feature for future TAMs. A bit more advertising of the functionality next time would give you a larger audience as well as better advertising of the range of papers to be presented...some people I know have said they would have been very interested in watching the teaching of rational thinking to children. Will these be on Youtube at any point.
