Is there going to be a call for papers for TAM6? If so what are the dates and where is the information.

Thanks, I will wait a little longer and if nothing comes up, I will do that. :D

Hi-- see my recent new post. The official page was just published today.

Do you have a proposal in the works =)

My Proposal

Yes, I do have a proposal in the works. I definitely have a topic but I am having trouble parsing it down to maximize it's relevance to TAM.
My working title is:

Deepak Chopra vs Cognitive Science: the little known second front in spirituality's war against science and materialism.

I'm going to argue that just as creationists are taking advantage of the public ignorance of evolution with intelligent design, new age spiritualists like Deepak Chopra are taking advantage of the public ignorance of cognitive science (the science of mind) to pedal their feel good woo woo.

I have to do some more research, and dream up some presentation strategies to make it both interesting and informative but this is the basic direction I am headed in.

What do you think?

OMG! That's the exact same topic as MY paper!!!

Just kidding. Really.

It sounds interesting but my first question would be "do you have evidence of this, or is it a theory of yours?".

I had an idea, as an extension of my talk last year. I was hoping to examine the Patent Applications from Steorn (The Irish perpetual motion company), to show either what it was they thought they had done, or how they were using some of the strategies I discussed last year to fake their way through it.

Unfortunately, it looks like they were just flat out lying when they said they had applied for patents, so now I have nothing to talk about!
