Hi everyone,
The JREF is going back to relying more on volunteers to run TAM. There will have an event management company, albeit a different one from last year's, but we'll need more volunteers to help.

I'm the volunteer volunteer coordinator. That is, I'm a volunteer and I coordinate the volunteers. I can't offer you much; the JREF isn't a rich organization. What I can offer is
* a TAM 2015 t-shirt that says "Volunteer" across the back.
* a free volunteer lunch. In past years Randi attended this; I hope he'll attend this one despite retiring.
* my promise I'll never schedule you to help during something you paid for.
I try to schedule each volunteer for no more than four hours total. This may change depending on how many volunteers we have. I'll be volunteering right beside you, and getting nothing more than you do.

All volunteers get trained by our Boundary Issue consultant. It's part of our effort to make sure that everyone feels safe at TAM, is safe at TAM, but if anyone needs it, there's a good chance that someone nearby knows who to call.

If you're interested, please go here.

If you have any questions, please PM me or email me at scott atsign randi. org.

Who is going to organize the forum table if Kochanski isn't there? Will there be a table?

Wait, GenCon is July 30 to August 2.

I don't know if there can be a forum table, since this forum is no longer associated with the JREF.

And yes, GenCon is early this year, usually it is mid August, with the pushed up date for GenCon I can't do both and I must do GenCon, I can hear True Dungeon calling me as always :D

Geez, we're going to miss you, Kochanski. I'm bummed. But I do hope you enjoy GenCon!

A forum table is still listed in the TAM FAQ. But as someone pointed out, it's probably a copy and paste job. Still... Would it do for someone to contact them for clarification? Same goes for TAMbassodor's.

Bump!

Thank you everyone!

<begging>I could use a few more volunteers. I have 11 extremely talented people, but I would be much happier if there were 20.</begging>

I mentioned the Forum Table to the event management company. KittyNH has contacted them. I think the JREF knows its value. It will be there.

Eos, TAMbassadors are part of the Forum welcome table. They're people who offer to help make new people feel welcome. They wear a button or ribbon (I forget which they had last year) so First TAMmers can find them.

Eos, are you coming to TAM this year? :D :D

I can confirm that Eos is indeed going to TAM. She'd be an excellent TAMbassador. I'd be glad to volunteer for that as well, but not being sure how much free time I'll have will hold off on more volunteering at this point.

We had buttons last year. I have two now. If there isn't anyone to make up buttons, I suspect most of the TAMbassadors past can spare one button to give to someone who wants to be a TAMbassodor for the first time.

Oh. And helping people with directions this year will not be as easy as it has been, given that we will all be at a new venue.

What about First TAMmer buttons?
