Hi everyone,
It's TAM Time again, and that means I get to ask for help!

I spoke with D.J. and he told me that we're going back to all-volunteers this year. We'll need more people than last year, both before TAM to assemble the packets and badges, before and during TAM for registration, and during TAM to watch doors and check badges.

My rules are the same: I never require anyone to work during anything they've paid for, and no more than about four hours total throughout TAM. I can give you the same rewards as before: a volunteer t-shirt, an appreciation lunch, and the thanks of over a thousand other attendees.

Please sign up at http://www.amazingmeeting.com/tam2014/getinvolved/volunteer/ , email me at scott@randi.org, or PM me here.

See you in Vegas!

I filled out the form. Done.

Not sure if I put the right departure date on the form. I don't know why I think that, but I'll be departing on the 14th.

Scott wrote to some of us saying he wouldn't be able to coordinate the volunteers this year. Not sure who is able to do it. I am willing to help out, but am not able to handle the whole thing. I don't think Scott has received from the JREF the list of people who volunteered through the site either, so not sure where things stand now. I think we need some communication from the JREF.

Can help with some things but not all. Scheduled to arrive Wednesday and should be at the hotel by midday. Not sure what is needed, but willing to pitch in. Let me know.

Did Scott say why?

In addition to the hefty raise he was asking for ;), he said he has other commitments he needs to take care of this summer. It's unfortunate. Hope we can make everything work, especially as we're supposedly back to all volunteers this year, with no professional events company handling things. Things really need to start getting coordinated, with the JREF's input and direction, soon. I think someone will need to be hired to coordinate things, if someone familiar with what needs to be done can't be found quickly to volunteer to take over what Scott had been doing. I don't know what the JREF's plans are currently, though.

Hi,
I wouldn't take money from the JREF even if they offered. :D My free time in June simply vanished. I'm travelling to Florida on my free weekends to see my father; there's a product release at work at the end of the month; I may have to travel because of it next week; Lobby Day was last week; and a couple other things all conspired to take away all my free time.

If you volunteered on the web form, I can only assume DJ or Thomas got that information. It never was sent to me. (Next year I'm going to ask them to have the form email the information to me as well as them, so I can contact people as the volunteer.) I know that there was a good reason for the delay, but then this hit at the end of May, and I had to quit before I got any information.

I'm sorry. I just ran out of time.
