It's been a little over a week since Amanda Berry was saved after being held against her will for a decade. Sylvia Browne, who told the girl's mother she was dead, has been mostly quiet, but issued a statement and a youtube video on her homepage.
The statement:
Then Browne's home page also has an embeded youtube video of one of her Montel Williams appearances, which was uploaded to youtube on May 13, 2013. It is her first video posting in two years. The video:
The uploader has disabled comments so people cannot point out any errors or question any of her claims.
Here is the transcript of the video, which is from a November 24, 2004 broadcast of the Montel William Show titled: "Sylvia Browne: Celebrating 2,500 Shows":
That short clip, we can assume, is the best Browne has of her predictions to respond to the criticism she has recently received calling her a fraud.
Going through this prediction by prediction:
1) On January 6, 1992 Browne said, "Arnold is getting ready for a political career." Schwarzenegger, a republican since 1968, first became involved in politics when he appeared with George H.W. Bush at a 1988 presidential election rally. He ran for his first political office in 2003. How did he gear up in 1992 for what happened in 2003?
2) On January 2, 1996 Browne said two people were involved with the April 19, 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing. Timothy McVeigh "was arrested within 90 minutes of the explosion." On April 21, 1995, Terry Nichols turned himself over to police after finding out police were looking for him. What Browne said at the time was already known: two people were involved. McVeigh received the death penalty, Nichols did not.
3) On April 21, 1998 Browne said the December 25, 1996 JonBenet Ramsey murder would not be solved. When Browne said this police were already grasping at straws for more than a year and had no suspects.
4) On December 30, 1996 Browne said Whitney Houston is "really going to stay with" Bobby Brown. They separated in 2006 and divorced on April 24, 2007, which is just three years after Montel claimed this was an accurate prediction.
5) On April 21, 1998 Browne said Madonna will have another baby with "somebody that we--we don't know yet, not to what's-his-name, you know, Carlo." A year before, as the NY Daily News reported on May 27th 1997: "Madonna and Carlos Leon are no longer living together," and Madonna was linked "to Gabriel Byrne and Benicio del Toro." This was widely known as there are literally hundreds of articles in google news published in 1997. First, it is not surpising that she would want another child after her first and secondly, it is no prediction to say a couple that hasn't lived together in a year won't continue. Browne also didn't predict Madonna's adoptions.
6) On an unknown date Browne said, the anthrax is "coming from right over here in Jersey in a basement." The anthrax laced papers were mailed domestically in 2001 in the United States, known as Amerithrax, one week after September 11th caused much worry. Early focus led authorities to Steven Hatfill, who was publicly named in August 2002, but he was exonerated. On August 6, 2008 authorities said Bruce Edwards Ivins, who died on July 29, 2008, was the sole person responsible. He is from Ohio and lived/died in Maryland. I see no connection to "Jersey in a basement."
7) On December 9, 1997 Browne said "we're going to have a short skirmish". It's unclear with who as there is no context. Considering there were wars in the Balkans from 1991 until 2001 with the US involved and leading NATO forces, this was quite obvious. Also when Browne said this the US bombed Iraq in the previous year in 1996.
According to the Weapons Inspector from 1991 to 1998, Scott Ritter said Iraq had not completed its disarmament obligations, but it had no capacity for WMDs. He had a very public battle with the Clinton administration before resigning around the time of Browne's prediction.

For more than 50 years as a spiritual psychic and guide, when called upon to either help authorities with missing person cases or to help families with questions about their loved ones, I have been more right than wrong. If ever there was a time to be grateful and relieved for being mistaken, this is that time. Only God is right all the time. My heart goes out to Amanda Berry, her family, the other victims and their families. I wish you a peaceful recovery." - Sylvia Browne
Sherry Cole, Amanda Berry's cousin reached out to Sylvia this morning to let her know that she supports her, loves her, knows Sylvia never claims to be 100% right, but wanted to let her know that she was accurate in her description of the perpetrators at the time.
"Our family in no way blames Sylvia. This doesn't change anything. We still love her and believe in her." * Sherry Cole

Predictions
WILLIAMS: How about Arnold Schwarzenegger?
SYLVIA BROWNE: (Originally aired January 6, 1992) Arnold is getting ready for a political career. Whether it's mayor, whether it's being--going for the Senate or something, but he's gearing up for a political career.
Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER: We are here, ladies and gentlemen, to clean house!
WILLIAMS: Arnold Schwarzenegger did gear up for a political career, and on November 17th, 2003, became California's 38th governor.
What about the Oklahoma City bombing? Will we get some justice in America this year?
BROWNE: (Originally Aired January 2, 1996) No, no, we're going to get some justice with this.
WILLIAMS: OK, so somebody's going to jail over this one?
BROWNE: Oh, you bet, two people, two people.
WILLIAMS: Death penalty? Death penalty?
BROWNE: Death penalty, gone.
WILLIAMS: Two people were arrested and sent to prison for the Oklahoma City bombing. Last August, Terry Nichols received a life sentence, barely escaping the death penalty. And in June of 2001, Timothy McVeigh was executed.
BROWNE: (Originally aired April 21, 1998) But you know the one that we're never going to see, I don't think ever solved in this lifetime--at last for many years is the JonBenet case. I mean, that thing has just dragged on until everybody's nuts.
WILLIAMS: So we won't solve it?
Ms. BROWNE: No, honestly not.
WILLIAMS: It's been eight years since the murder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey. No arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved.
Whitney Houston. Tell me about her and Bobby Brown.
BROWNE: (Originally aired December 30, 1996) I really believe that she really, really loves him. I mean, regardless of his bad-boy image or whatever, and I do think--I think that they just stay together. So I think that they really love each other. I think she's really going to stay with him.
WILLIAMS: Despite their highly publicized marital troubles, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown have remained together.
Will Madonna have another baby?
BROWNE: (Originally aired April 21, 1998) Yes...
WILLIAMS: Who's the father of the baby?
BROWNE: ...by somebody that we--we don't know yet, not to what's-his-name, you know, Carlo.
WILLIAMS: Carlo.
Ms. BROWNE: Yeah. No, it's another guy.
WILLIAMS: OK.
Madonna did become a mother again, but this time with filmmaker Guy Ritchie. Their son, Rocco, was born in August of 2000.
What's going to happen with this whole terrorist thing?
BROWNE: I want people to quit worrying about anthrax and smallpox. Will you stop? And it's not coming, Montel, from the Far East. It's coming from right over here in Jersey in a basement.
WILLIAMS: Last August, FBI agents investigating the 2001 anthrax attacks conducted searches on three homes including a residence in New Jersey.
Man #2: Will the United States be involved in any armed conflict abroad in 1998?
WILLIAMS: You know what? That's on her predictions sheet.
BROWNE: (Originally aired December 9, 1997) Yeah, it is, and we're going to have a short skirmish. Listen, you know how everybody is so concerned about what he's got and the fact that we should let the people go in there, Saddam? He doesn't have anything.
WILLIAMS: One year later, the United States did have a short skirmish with Iraq when it launched Operation Desert Fox. And in March of 2003, the United States invaded Iraq to destroy Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. But so far, just as Sylvia predicted, no weapons have been found.
Over the years, we've all been fascinated by Sylvia Browne's insights, and time and time again have been amazed by their accuracy. We look forward to more of Sylvia's predictions.
