Strange redirection from yahoo mail

I have an email account at yahoo.com and I also had an email account 3 years ago at work (I do not work there anymore) and this account has been closed for years.

So I have 1 account at yahoo Let's call it YAHOOMAIL
and an email address from a old employer. Let's call it CSMBMAIL.

Problem is :

Often but not always, people who send me email to YAHOOMAIL have their email redirected to the CSMBMAIL account.

This CSMBMAIL account has been terminated 3 years ago so it bounces back to the sender with an error message.

It is possible that I made some kind of redirection from YAHOOMAIL to CSMBMAIL many years ago (not even sure about that).

I have look everywhere on my yahoo account to find this redirection but I did not find anything relevant.

Any ideas where the problem might be ?

Thanks

Are you sure that these emails were originally sent to the Yahoo account?

In other words, are you absolutely sure that all of your friends have deleted the old CSMBMAIL address from their address books?

I know some email clients have auto-complete functionality in the addressing box that can trip you up if you aren't paying attention. Even if a friend has your new address, the old address might still be in their client and they might have selected it by mistake.

Thanks for answering.

Yes I am as sure as I can be. This has happened with at least 4-5 of my correspondent and they are aware of the problem.

It even happened to me once in a test sending myself an email from YAHOOMAIL to YAHOOMAIL and .... it bounced from CSMBMAIL. :eye-poppi

So I am sure that YAHOOMAIL is forwarding some mail to CSMBMAIL.

My only hypothesis is that I once made a redirection in my yahoo setup to redirect to CSMBMAIL and this redirection is hidden somewhere in my yahoo account.

But my mains problem is that:

1- I cannot find where (if possible) I can make such a redirection inside my yahoo account.

2- It does not happen all the time. Some email go through normally while some other are redirected to CSMBMAIL.

I am really lost.

That part I can totally understand. I'm not a Yahoo mail user, or I'd offer some advice

That's the truly odd part. I'm scratching my head wondering how that could be happening....

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I asked myself if maybe it was some kind of filter that was filtering some keywords and making decision on that. But I found no common keyword to the emails that were redirected to CSMBMAIL.

Very strange indeed.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Thanks for trying. :)
