StopSylvia email: Her Recent Court Cases

Okay, so who are the other parties?

Gina Dufresne - defendant in a real property action - daughter-in-law? I note that Chris was also a defendant in this one, which was filed in 2002 and disposed of summarily in 2003.

Gina is also plaintiff in a breach of contract claim, where Chris and Sylvia are defendants.

Loren Richard Glover - defendant in an elder abuse action. Who is this?

There's also a bank suing her and Chris. I wonder if she sees bankruptcy in her future?

I believe she was Chris or Paul (Sylvia's sons') wife. I'd have to dig through my notes.

No idea. Perhaps someone caring for Sylvia?

:D Now Jon, you know she can't be psychic about herself. (nor anything else...)

Noreen Renier beats (at present) Sylvia Browne

As I've previously noted here on the JREF forum it's tough to beat Noreen Renier's court room loss record. She is presently just one court below the U.S. Supreme Court with her 2nd appeal / attempt to over turn a U.S. federal court decision in March 2011. That's the one where the judge found her as not credible and having misled his court. I don't believe any "psychic" has ever made it to Renier's federal loss-level before and received 4 U.S. federal court judgments (from 3 different federal courts) against her since 2006. She's also on her second bankruptcy since 1998. But perhaps other "super psychics" with equal foresight will end up there as well.

Interesting to see that.

I was just listening to an interview with Sylvia Browne by Charles Karel Bouley. Very unimpressive, forgive my typos:

The Karel Show
kgoam810.com
Oct. 30, 2011, Hour 3
Link: http://drewmarshall.ca/audio/111029sylviabrown.mp3

Karel: It's Halloween weekend. Why not talk to a psychic? It's the weekend for it. Sylvia Browne is certainly someone in this life and the afterlife that is of some renown. ...
....
Karel: I want to start off by saying there are some of you out there that don't like Sylvia. There are those who don't believe in her predictions or any psychic predictions. I was reading the wikipedia page for Sylvia and while it goes into some detail about the controversies, all it really states to me is that there are some people who believe in these things and there are some people who don't. ....

...believe in what you want to believe, it's all fun, it's all done in good spirit and they have been helpful ... with police ....

[at the 14:00 mark]
Caller: Hi girl. Hi Sylvia.
...
Caller: Back to my question. Do you have any suggestions how I can tune into my own intuition. I use to be pretty intuitive in making good medical choices and I want to sense if in three of four years from now I might be free from taking some drugs that I don't like to take....
Sylvia: You've got to find a good neurologist, honey.
Caller: It's not pain medicine, it's steriods.
...
Caller: I don't need a neurologist. It's autoimmune.
Sylvia: Honey, I'm telling you its in your neurological system. I've worked with 300 doctors, trust me on this one.
...
Sylvia: In about a year and a half you're going to be better.
Caller: Well, okay I'm already better now. Thank you very much.
...
Karel (reading a question): How can you tell if its actually someone communicating from the otherside?
Sylvia: If they tell me something I wouldn't know. ...
...
Karel (reading a question): What's your take on the Occupy Wall Street Movement and will it be effective?
Sylvia: Yes, it will be eventually. You know, it's just a mess right now. ... I'm telling you by November it's going to be settled.
Karel: This November or next election November?
Sylvia: No, this November.
...
Sylvia: No, no, no. That's Schizophrenia. I'm not a doctor, but work closely psychiatrists...
...

I wonder if I'd get on the air if I called up saying "Hi, Sylvia. I have a question for you written on the back of the 8 of diamonds in this freshly shuffled pack of cards, can you answer it please?"

If they do not ask what your question is before you go on air then you might get on air. If you did ask that question then you will get an answer then they will cut you off before you can tell them the answer supplied is rubbish.

I wonder if psychics sometimes "slip".

Questioner: What have I written on the back of this paper which is in this envelope right here?
Psychic: Well how could I possibly know that?
Questioner: Um, you're supposed to be a psychic, aren't you?
Psychic: Oh, right, sorry. Well, then I'd have to say I don't see anything because.... because..... because you don't believe, and your negative energy is interfering with the reading.

Knowing Sylvia, my guess is that she wouldn't miss a beat. Something along the lines of:

"Oh please, I don't do silly parlor tricks, I've been in this business for 60 years. You need to get your heart checked. I'm worried about your heart, something to do with an artery."

You: "My heart is fine."

Sylvia, raising eyes (as if to imply "Who's the psychic here?"). "Uh huh. But you need to get it checked. It's why you're so tired lately. Next?"

Dial tone. Next caller.

ExM, the way you describe it, it's almost like anyone could do it!

(anyone without a conscience or any empathy, that is...)

Browne's attorney is Jeffrey B Hare, who specializes in real estate law. (see: http://www.jeffreyhare.com/contact-jeffrey-b-hare )

As for her other son, Paul Dufresne, there are several civil cases with a person of that name. Unknown if it's Browne's son. Three are small claims cases over money and one is a 2011 unlawful detainer.

In 2011, Browne and Dufresne were previously sued by Santa Barbara Bank & Trust for money owned, which is connected to the Hellyer Commons Owners Association above. According to the court website the 2012 court judgment was:
1-11-CV-207791 said:
For: Santa Barbara Bank & Trust / PLT
Against: Sylvia C Browne / DEF

The text of the ruling is:
1-11-CV-207791 said:
Plt to recover from Def possession of premises located at 6030 Hellyer Ave San Jose, CA ORDERED SALE and a total of $1,160,272.78. Proceeds of sale shall be applied in payment of amount due.
Full: http://www.sccaseinfo.org/pa6.asp?full_case_number=1-11-CV-207791

A map and photos of 6030 Hellyer Ave San Jose, CA is here from the real estate company.

What's really interesting about Browne losing that property and being ordered to pay more than one million dollars is her contact address for Sylvia Browne Corporation is 6000 Hellyer Ave., which is literally across the parking lot.

For what its worth, Paul Dufresne, Browne's other son, is a licensed real estate agent with a company called Dufresne Enterprises of El Dorado Hills.
