Okay, here is an odd email I received at StopSylvia.com, with the subject "About Browne".

As usual, I have left all spelling and punctuation as it came, and have not added "[sic]" notations:

Hi Robert, let me start by saying I am a skept on psycics, however at the same time I myself have psycic abilities, I see and deal with the spirit world daily. I have voice recordings of me talking to spirits and in some recordings you can actually see the spirit. I have healed family pets of near death, my mother of cancer and so on, I beieve that the spirit within us is the spirit of GOD and that being created in their image, we posess the same abilities as the trinty. I am a firm believer in GOD. I have interpited dreams, have visions of things to come and often know when people are sick and hear their spirit cry.

What I hear from most pastors..etc.. is that I am dealing with the devil, I'm not supose to know things or dabble in the underworld, for which I do not, I love and believe in GOD and I am very careful in what I do or think. I do not want to go against GOD , so I am very skept. Of myself and I am always searching the Bible and other resources to debunk myself. I have been to theology collage, evengelist collage and so on. ( only because the goverment requested that I get certified ) I am also a certified Revern. I have learned in my studies that even in the Bible there was dream interpitaters and prophets etc...

My point of my email is just to say...... 1st. I do not find enough evedience to prove browne is a fake. When posting emails or segments of her shows you leave out parts that may be a help in getting an accurate conclusion.

2nd. As a fellow psycic. ( or. Whatever one would call me ) I find that even though I am right 80 percent of the time the few times I seem wrong is merley where I did not go in depth or would get the first letter of a name right but would get the name wrong. Some times our signals are crossed or in my case I get interference from peoples thoughts that are around me and in some cases as in names of people , when a person has 3 first names I can get that confused with 3 seperat people and I can get that confussed with other spirits that are in the room.

Now keep in mind I am a skept of psycics but also believe in the spiritual nature of GOD. So I am studing and will continue my research. I just wanted to say that if you dont acknowledge your GOD even abilities and do not apply them to your life then you would't know the obstacls that gifted people face. Keep in mind that the devil would not want us to use the GOD given tools to be happy or find closure. Have you done research on other psycics ? Or do you just have issuses with browne ?

Not taking sides here I hope you understand. Thanks for your time and I am egared to hear your reply or opinion.

You can post this, [name]

Be kind.

I have said before that we need a smiley for 'facepalm'. It seems we also need one for 'point-and-laugh'. A most odd email indeed.

I wouldn't be able to be anything BUT kind for this sort of email. This sounds like it is coming either from a friend or huge fan of Browne's or else a very, very disturbed or deluded individual.
However, I couldn't help but chuckle when I read the part about the government wanting he/she to get "certified." I immediately thought of a different interpretation of "certified."

And how exactly would one 'see' spirits in a voice recording?
Don't over-analyze it. Let the spirit flow through you and ...

This person ...

Cheese and rice. I'm just going to post this.

I'd like to think this is a case of English as a second language (skept?). Maybe a bit of delusion (the government wants him or her certified?), though. That seemed a little odd. It is also hard to believe this person could have made it through any type of evangelical college to become a reverend with that kind of grammar, though again maybe English is a second language. Other than that, the rest doesn't seem unlike the beliefs of many New Agers I have known. Pretty common actually. A lot of those who believe they are psychic and judged as involved with demons by the Christian church, turn to people like Browne.

Curious to see how you will respond. :)

Perhaps, and/or it was written by some veeery young.

Maybe a bit of delusion (the government wants him or her certified?), though. [That seemed a little odd.

As to the correspondent's gender, I am not just hiding it (as I usually do), but I do not know. The "From name" on the email is a man's name, but the signature at the end was a woman's name. Just one more oddity.

Ah, but the correspondent went to an evEngelical collAge, and those might have lower standards in letting someone become a "revend" (I think it was spelled, anyway).

In fact, he or she may well have been the...veloductyreun!

those who believe they are psychic and judged as involved with demons by the Christian church, turn to people like Browne.

But what of those who believe they are "psycic"?

Curious to see how you will respond. :)

As am I, ex-M!

It's also possible the writer is an ignorant liar, pissed off by Robert's stubborn persistance in investigating his/her hero.

An auto-skeptic psychic? whatever next?

"I am skept of psychics because I are one..." (paraphrase). Good of them to take the trouble to write in.

Perhaps the correspondent is a transgender psychic? :)

Slightly off topic, but don't most e-mail editors have spell-check?

Of course.

My take is it's either a young, uneducated, or non-English-speaking person (or some combination) who believes themselves psychic - psycic, though of course skept - who is threatened by Robert's site just in the general sense that Sylvia might be experiencing some of the same unfortunate bad luck that causes such psycics to be occasionally wrong, like the writer himself. Or herself. Which makes the writer feel threatened and inclined to defend his own justifications for being wrong 20% of the time, and stick up for Sylvia.

Alas, if I were even the slightest bit psycic myself I could figure this out, but sadly I am just a skept.

Issues
When posting emails or segments of her shows you leave out parts that may be a help in getting an accurate conclusion.
Examples? If she can give you some then you have extra material for the site.

As for her name and e-mail, it was probably set up by one person (father, husband) for their own use then she started using it.

The spelling could be just someone who is very poor at spelling. Spell check and I agree on what the words should be.
She says she went to "theology collage, evengelist collage." But never said she GRADUATED. Could be worth asking how far she got. Maybe she is still there?

And how exactly would one 'see' spirits in a voice recording?

Yes, his/her phrasing certainly implies that, but it is not the only possible way of reading it. He/She said:

correspondent said:
"I have voice recordings of me talking to spirits and in some recordings you can actually see the spirit."

Note that he/she does not say "in some of these recordings..." (although that is strongly implied). He/she could mean "in some other recordings..." but I am being generous here. Using that same logic, it could be said that he/she meant "in some recordings made by someone else entirely you can actually..."

I will ask for clarification on this in my reply.
