Has anyone heard of any research, articles, etc that delve into the possibility to use stem cells to repair brain damage?

My roomie was recently diagnosed with MS. I wonder if this kind of treatment would benefit that. It's basically burnt out bits of brain from what I understand.

No it is not "burnt out bits of brain".

It is bits of brain that have not even formed into Brain Cells yet!:D

And remember:

Obviously the field of neurology (-neurological rehabiliatiton) has high hopes for this discovery.
Stem cell research and treatment is still more like a dream than reality in practical sense I think, but will be advancing and certainly is.
I cannot force myself to track down any articles right now, sorry, but there are various.
