I got a chuckle out of this.
I work in a primarily conservative Republican office (in Dallas, Texas), and one of the executives constantly spams our inboxes with anti-Democratic urban myths. I've mostly ignored them, but he sent around one today that has to do with Nancy Pelosi swapping a gas-sipping (smaller) jet for a "200-passenger" behemoth so she can jet across the country every week to California, and that this is costing the taxpayers $5.7 million / year.

I emiled him (and CCed everyone else that he'd CCed):
"Please get your facts straight before emailing this stuff. Pres. Bush OKed the larger plane (which wasn’t even asked for by Speaker Pelosi), and for a very good reason:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/pelosi/jet.asp".
Not 5 minutes later he was in my office, telling me that he doesn't believe GWB approved of such a thing. I asked if he'd actually read the article I'd linked, and he said, "No, I don't want to!"
I paraphrased it for him and told him that if a Republican from Hawaii was ever appointed Speaker of the House, he'd be obligated to fly in that very jet. He immediately changed his stance from 'That evil Democrat who's wasting our money' to 'Washington is wasting our tax dollars and I don't think ANY Speaker should be allowed to fly in such luxury.'
The shift was THAT dramatic
