Space Tourism

I think that as time goes on, more and more people will lose interest in Space Tourism if they think that "Only" "The Rich" go up instead of the people that just earn thousands of dollars from their jobs. I think that the people who earn thousands of dollars will start to think that their access to space will be cut off forever if only the rich go up. Why does it always have to be the Few instead of the many?!? Couldn't they form some company that will save up thousands of dollars from the people that donate it and then it would use that money to support space tourism and eventually a whole lot of people who could contribute thousands of dollars and over the years millions of dollars would be saved up so that they can go up there. I would never support space tourism if it was just for the rich "For All Time".

Powered flight was originally 'just for the rich', but as technology improved, prices came down. I'm sure this would apply to space tourism too.

Of course, the problem with commercial space flights is the degree of investment needed before the enterprise turns a profit. Any company with an interest in space tourism needs big profits and brave shareholders...

What a loser. ALL exotica, especially that involving leisure time, is pioneered by "the rich" (or those sponsoring them). THAT is what reduces costs, improves efficiencies and makes it possible for everyman to go, too.

It used to be the height of ostentatious wealth to have an in-house theater for viewing movies. Now any idiot with a VCR and a few bucks can watch almost any full length movie at home, and many have real theaters.

Just give it time, and "your support" is unneeded. Let the richie-riches sort it out and get it right, the market for the rest of us will be huge and entrepreneurs will be more than happy to help us indulge the urge to go to space.

I know what you might be correct in saying that the prices eventually will go down as more and more people begin to invest in space tourism.

"Powered flight was originally 'just for the rich', but as technology improved, prices came down. I'm sure this would apply to space tourism too."

I also know that this was true for people being able to travel around the world. A century or two, only a whole lot of rich people were able to travel around the world, but as the technology to get to places improved, then the prices that peopel would have to pay to get to places eventually went down too. I think that you are probably right about how the price for space tourism will eventually go down too as the technology improves for getting into low Earth orbit.
