Researchers have have found certain species of aquatic bacteria produce substances which kill deadly hospital acquired superbugs.

Could this be a cure for these infections in vivo as well as killing the organisms in vitro ?

It is impressive what can be found in seawater. A painkiller is also supposedly in late clinical trials many times more potent than morphine with far less side-effects and addiction potential, it comes from sea snails.

Did you mean to put that the other way round?

No doubt that is the goal of the research effort.
