For those who were on the Slammer Tour at TAM6 and want to share photos, this thread is for coordination. We agreed while on the tour to use a tag of "slammertour08" on our albums, but I thought we might directly link here.

Here are my photos:
http://picasaweb.google.com/timfarley/PennJilletteSSlammerTour2008

(They are reduced on the web to 1024 pixels, if anyone on the tour wants the 3296x2472 originals for any of these, just PM me).

For those who not on the tour, we will gladly accept jealous comments. Yes, it was awesome.

Great pics......

Now that you posted your pics, I feel like i went.....

Too bad you had to miss Phil Plaits speech.....

Ah memories... it's like it all happened only a week ago.

I didn't get a chance to go through my Slammer photos before having to leave for Hong Kong, so nothing to show yet. I'll try to get to them next week. I have one of Randi and the belly dancer that I hope I hope I hope turned out nice.

I think it was the Gin philosopher, Blossom, who once said, "Hey Jealousy."

See ya in Quito!

ETA: Thanks for posting the pics. I felt like I was there (almost!). Nice job, Krelnik!

If anyone reading this thread went on a Slammer Tour back during TAM 2 or 3, could you comment on how the addition of children has changed the decor?

Actually, there has been a huge addition to the house since then to accomodate the two children. That two-story section that you see us walking up a ramp into (and where we ate lunch) is it. Emily told us that is where the family spends most of their time now. There's a second kitchen back there, both of the kids bedrooms are there, and so on. Behind it is a large play area with lots of kids toys visible, and in front of it (between it and the original patio) is the area where you see the chalk signatures from Moxie in my photos. Out back beyond the house are a set of landscaped walking trails that are new as well.

The garage and carport that are not attached to the house were also built around the same time.

(When I say "new" I mean within the last 2 or 3 years of course).

Hong Kong?

Did you read the Membership Agreement. (The part in invisible print.) You're required to notify certain persons (Ahem!) when heading this way.

I live in one of the most incredible places in the world, and have had a chance to meet a grand total of one JREF visitor in two years. In that get-together we missed connecting with two other residents who are irregulars on the Forum.

(Yah, I know.... people generally pass through here working... so, at most we can make time for a bowl of noodles, a couple of brews, or a little sight-seeing.)

If you're still here and reading this thread, drop me a PM.

Here are my videos from the Slammer tour. I would have recorded more of the tour, but I just don't have space in my digicam for much video.

Some music:

Recording studio:

Carnival game:

So what deep secrets were revealed in the recording studio after video cams were shut off???

He told us that a particular person had recorded something in the studio, but that person would be upset if that information got out on the internet. I think I'm safe in saying that much.

This was truly an amazing experience. I have been a fan of Penn ever since his SNL appearance where he did the "Is this your card" trick with the videotape recorder. I tried the trick at home and got a lot of laughs. And when I found out Penn was an atheist and a libertarian, I realized I was not alone.

My pictures may take a while to put up because I had to use my friend's old camera. My wife didn't want me to use our camera just in case one of our kids did something new while I was away. (I think she now regrets not coming to TAM since I did have a chance to buy another ticket at the auction.)
