A couple of articles which I hope will be particularly useful.

[swiki]Intermediate Forms[/swiki] : defines them and debunks the usual creationist nonsense.

[swiki]Intermediate Forms Between Classes[/swiki] : what it says.

Of course, these cover more or less the same ground as Kathleen Hunt's Transitional Fossil FAQ parts 1A and 1B on talkorigins. However, I've deliberately gone at it from a different angle so as to complement rather than repeat the talkorigins article. [swiki]Intermediate Forms Between Classes[/swiki] contains some nifty extras not to be found on talkorigins:

* The tables of morphological traits.

* The transition from invertebrates to vertebrates is covered.

* Fossil hunters have been busy in the last few years. Say hello to Psarolepis, Achoania, Sinornithosaurus millenni, Eucritta melanolimnetes, and other inbetweeny creatures.

* Links! Lots of lovely links!
