Sorry about the above link, but the forum will not allow me to post a link, or something it thinks is a link until I have done 15 posts. It is a good site, and was started in responce to some of the Veterinary surgeons in the UK trying to get the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons to recognise Homeopathy as a real discipline. This caused much heated debate in the veterinary press. The silent majority sat back and watched in amazement. By applying for voodoo to be recognised as a proper branch of Veterinary science, the society of vet voodoo hoped to wake up the profession from its apathetic, don't make waves position and say no to this debasement of their profession. They after all do spend 5 years studing veterinary scienceat University. The argument is currently rageing again due to some bright spark claiming that Quantum mechanics has been proven to provide an explanation for Homeopathy. But as always, not one proper scientific trial giving proof of ethicacy. The science backers are on their part using the changes in prescibing law to get homeopathic medicine banned on the basis that if it is just water then fairenough, you do not need a product licence, but if it is "altered" water, you , by definition, must get a product licence to use it as a veterinary medicine .
There is I believe a memeber of the Vet voodoo soc who posts on this forum and they will no doubt give a fuller and more eloquant outline of the debate. It is sadly demeaning for a scientific profession to have to be debateing this subject for more than 10 mins.
