I did not see a thread on that already, if there was one, my apologies.

I propose following the same pattern as last year. We can have it in my and Luciana's room (if she does not mind, of course!) Thursday evening, about an hour after the meeting breaks up. Saturday is the party, Friday Lance Burton (although I dont have tickets, so am open to suggestions on that night)

Ladies- you can change either at our room, or just show up in your pajamas. Last year we had anything from flannel ones, to some pretty risque ones, so it is your own choice. Feel free to bring stuffed toys, but do not be like kitty and knock at the door of strange men...

I will try again to have some snacks, drinks and tea, but if you can bring some cookies or something like that, please do! :)

When TAM starts, look for me and Luciana and we will tell you the room number. I will be volunteering by the Tshirt table, should be easy to spot.

If you can't find us, ask around, other skepchicks should know.

Anyone is welcome- wives, daughters, and so on. Nobody has to be a skeptic. Please do NOT BE SHY! Even if we don't know you very well, you are more than welcome. It is a great opportunity to get to know each other.

Anyone who reveals the location of the party to Bad Astronomer, will get tickled to death.

If we can get some money beforehand, we will have a few extras, but probably it is best if everyone just gets one for themselves and brings it to TAM :)

Last year it was quite wonderful, I hope for a repeat this year.

We are considering organzing an auction of security shirts. Perhaps 5 in total, as many as 10 if there is a demand. Shirts will be autographed by all attendees, and as a bonus, there might be (this has not yet been finalized) a picture of the attendees e-mails after TAM3.

The proceeds would first go to offset costs of the shirts, and the rest will go to TAM3 scholarship fund.
Various people are checking into things for that.

Reminder- just because you have a security shirt does NOT mean you get to attend! But you can wear it, and you can torture male skeptics by giving them wrong locations for the party, and you can make up various stories- just like Bad Astronomer and Electric Monk did :D

I hereby offer to match last year's bid.
 
Unlike the doubtless, endless plaintive "invite me" responses from pathetic pervs like Central Srcotum... my only concern is for the opportunity for my friend to join in with the skepchicks and their flannel clad fun.

I don't want to know where the PJ party is, or any details about it, but if you see a petite redhead standing next to a tallish brown haired guy, please take her aside and fill her in on the details.

Well, as for the food, I think it's best to just get it that day. I'm not sure that I can handle bringing food through the airport these days. :mad:

I'll post a list of the extracurricular activities the week before the conference starts so that everyone is aware of what is going on.

Also, we should invite Julia Sweeney and all of the other female speakers from the conference to come by! I invited her last year, she was too tired, but if we get word to her beforehand, she might be rested up enough to join us. :D

Thursday night is the best night for the Skepchicks PJ Party. It allows us to get to know each other before the conference goes into full swing!

Good idea, and make sure she has a t-shirt!
 
I caught Julia on "Pulp Comics" on Comedy Central this morning, just before I headed off to work.

She was talking about Elijah meaning "Yahweh is my god", and commenting that a kid named that doesn't really have much choice in which religion to worship in.

"Yahweh-is-my-god! Time for you to take out the trash!"
 
I almost forgot- silly me. Ladies please bring some razors and shaving cream- I plan to procure a certain wombat for his overdue shave.

Yes, $20 bucks I paid to TAM2 attendees to spread those rumors were utterly worth it :D
