(Yes, it IS Peres. Really.)

I couldn’t find out who Cosmo Cramer is. I gave up after discovering:
1) A Yorkshire terrier called Cosmo Cramer.
2) I probably don’t want to know.

Skeptic: There seems to be a problem with Israeli leaders and age, doesn’t there? Whilst 25 (or however old he was in the picture) is plainly too young to have the requisite experience for leading a party or a nation, I also feel very strongly that Sharon, Peres etc. are far too old now to have a meaningful vision for the future.

What the Israelis actually need is someone exactly my age …

It's not Cosmo Cramer, it's Cosmo Kramer, or better known simply as Kramer, from the sitcom Seinfeld.

I think it's either "Cosmo Kramer" or "Kosmo Kramer". Can't be sure of the spelling -- that's the problem with television.

FYI "Cosmo" Kramer is from the Seinfeld tv series. You'd have to have watched the show to know that, same as you might not understand a reference to Mr. Peppermint or Icky Twerp. Needs a cultural context to fit into to make sense.

(who's off to google "Icky Twerp")

Thank you, Donks. I now know that Cosmo K(C)ramer is an American comic character. (PARDON?)

Some representative examples of the humorous plots:
Kramer plots with Newman to take aluminum cans, and bottles to a state with a higher deposit, and cash in on the amount.

Kramer purchases a lockbox and looks for the perfect place for the key. He only hides the key at Jerry's apartment. Every place he hides it, it is quickly found.
Some representative examples of his witticisms:
"I don't want a movie hot dog. I want a Papaya King hot dog!"

"Hey, you know what would make a great coffee table book? A coffee table book about coffee tables!"

"These pretzels are making me thirsty."
Er, perhaps we should give Peres another chance.

I think it's similarity of looks he had in mind when making the comparison.

Gray's Papaya is on 72th and Broadway, serves papaya drinks, pina coladas and great hot dogs to be consumed mostly while standing. Papaya King is on East 86th Street and serves the same great hot dogs and drinks. I would be surprised that Kramer would trek to the east side when Gray's papaya was just as good in Jerry Seinfeld's west side neighborhood.

It's all in the context and delivery, Lucky.

And here's a clue for you Brits: A man in drag is not inherently, laugh-riot funny.
