The big arguement is the issue of space colonization, and whether it is possible, feasible, and if it could at ALL happen in the near future.

The 'Is the US becoming the Old Rome is just how it got started'. Amazing how threads loss track, you know?

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Yes its possible, No we can't afford even small scale colonization efforts now, and it won't happen until there's money to be made by sending people rather than machines into space.

A discussion like this could never be "settled," as it's just people sharing opinions. There are no right or wrong answers.

Anyway, we'll colonize space when there is an economic advantage to doing so. Maybe the early adopters will be rich tourists.
