Basically senate voted to repeal ACA and defund planned parenthood. Naturally this is beside the point as it will be vetoed by the president.

Now imagine a republican president and a republican senate are voted in 2016 november.... Majority in congress, senate and president (while effectively not having a population majority - thanks the stupid electoral college and US vote system for that, some vote are less worth than others). ACA repealed , planned parenthood defunded.

I think it could be a catastrophe of social proportion, mainly due to PP defunding. Increasing the number of unwanted baby, cancers, and so forth.

How do you estimate or feel the probability of a republican landslide ?

Do you really mean "repel"? You used it twice. Or do you mean repeal?

IMO that's only the tip of the iceberg. A GOP president may have the opportunity to change the makeup of the Supreme Court which will have the effect of changing policy for a couple of decades. Add on a layer of gerrymandering and voter suppressing to ensure that the GOP is impervious to demographic and voter changes and you've got a perfect storm.

To be fair there is gerrymandering on both side, but yes there are some of the worst seriously egregious example of exploded district wand spread all over the map in the republican south.

Republicans: "Let's try to end health insurance for millions of people!"
A month later:
Republicans: "I don't understand, why aren't people voting for us?"

If they get any more cartoonishly evil they'll start construction on a Death Star.

This has to be coupled with a voter right denial act. A VRDA would offset the ACA repeal by blocking the votes of the people who benefit from the ACA.

I don't know why those retards think that getting a bill to repeal Obamacare to Obama's desk for him to veto is some kind of accomplishment.

I wish they WOULD construct a Death Star. The economy could use the jobs. Better idea than building a wall to keep consumers out of Walmart.

The house has voted to end ACA what, 50 or 60 times now? While actually accomplishing pretty much nothing. Sad.
Well they did shut down the government for two weeks over Obamacare only to then surrender to Obama. That's an accomplishment, right?

I suppose the reason is to continually remind their base they are really fighting the good fight.

The stupid, idiotic, lying Senate Republicans who are foolishly trying to get the ACA repealed are about as bad as the stupid, idiotic, lying House Republicans who foolishly tried to sue President Obama.

I've read the article linked in the OP twice, but I can't find any details about the bill in question.

The ACA is a huge piece of legislation, with many, many clauses and provisions. The "repeal" bill is a budget bill. Does it include a literal "repeal ACA" provision? A blanket "no funding for ACA" provision? Doe it defund some or all parts of the ACA that require federal funds? If so, what's the exact wording?

My guess is that the bill defunds some part of the ACA that some believe are vital to its success, such that defunding them amounts to a de facto "repeal" of the ACA. And that even though a literal "repeal" as such has not been voted on, CNN is justified to some extent in characterizing the budget resolution as a "repeal".

But I would definitely like to see the details of what actually got passed in this piece of legislation.
