In Lebanon, anti Syrian MP's are being bombed, and shot, innocent bystanders are being slaughtered, and the country is being pushed towards civil war, by the allies of Hezbollah.

But guess what, not a peep out of Alex Jones blaming Syria for a conspiracy no.

In Darfur, hundreds of thousands have been murdered by the Janjaweed who are backed by the Sudanese government.

In 2004, Ashok Leyland supplied the Sudanese government with surplus Bedford TK military trucks, the Sudanese government then gave them to the Janjaweed who mounted machineguns on them and used them to massacre villages. The pace of the genocide would not have been possible without the backing of the Sudanese government. Anyone ever seen Alex Jones condemn the Sudanese government ? I haven't.

Leeds is west yorkshire, harrogate is perhaps the home to the largest american community in the UK (due to RAF Menwith Hill), York, you are very close with York. York is the nearest city to me.

Well, that's something people don't wanna see. If it doesn't affect them directly, they just don't care.

In Africa, entire tribes are slaughtered just to make way for industrial ground of any kind, which is of course more profitable.

And guess what... It's not hundreds... more like hundreds of thousands of people. They're just being killed because of being in the line of 'evolution'. The (most of the time) military run government doesn't give a damn, because it's all about (their) money.

And here's the irony... There are a few tourists who lost their lives in some country known to be evil(tm), and it's all a big deal if they're from Europe, the US, Canada or some other place, known to be not entirely evil(tm).

We're not supposed to call them negroes, that would be evil(tm). We don't call them blacks... That's also not too good...

We just watch them being slaughtered and don't give a damn... But at least we're not calling them negroes...

Don't forget Putin killing his political rivals.

Chavez giving himself dictatorial power. etc. etc. etc.

Derail - Sorry!

My Mam and Dad live in Sherburn-In-Elmet....

Back on topic...

Jones probably hasn't mentioned it because Americans wouldn't really care about it - which means he couldn't sell it to them!

Besides, if it's common knowledge it's not a CT.

I know Sherburn very well, one of my friends goes to Squiers milk bar... My great auntie used to live on Kirkgate, and my mate Mike's mum has a jewellery shop on the main street, and whats amusing is his familys surname rhymes with jeweller... Small world!

Jones wouldn't mention syrian conspiracies because it doesn't fit with his 'only the illuminati conspire' theory. He wouldn't mention Sudanese conspiracies for the same reason, that and the fact that he can't delve deep enough into the realms of fantasy to pin it on Bush in some way that defies the laws of physics...

are you talking for yourself here?

are you talking for yourself here?

And you are doing.....?

Oh, and add Zimbawe to the list too..... Though I have to wonder if it's still a conspiracy if it's being done in the open. Could it be called a conspiracy when the best the UN does is give the guy a book about slums after he demolished the homes of anyone that supported the opposition? I guess so when you consider that he and the then head of the UN were friends.....

Robert and Kofi were buddies? I didn't know that.

They were friends, though not what you'd call buddies such as Mugabe's relationship with other African leaders such as South Africa's Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandala. Tangled web huh? Strange how those that had fought for so long for their own people's freedom aren't willing to stand up to a guy they know and stop him abusing other's freedoms.

Oooh, neat coincidence - I actually know someone who is webmaster for an online Menwith alumni group (Americans who were stationed there at some time.)

Never expected to hear the name anywhere else besides in conversation with him.

Oh, there are loads of "real conspiracies" that don't ever get lip service by the CT 'heroes' out there. Business conspiracies (monopolistic behavior, takeovers of competition, unethical internal practices, trading scandals) are a dime a dozen, but even the loudest of the 'woo' crowd doesn't comment on them. Central America is rife with bad government behavior, the genocide and displacement in Darfour is definitely agenda-driven, Russia is beginning to remind me of the old Soviet Union with their government, Iran's leadership doesn't hide the control it has over dissemination of information, North Korea's leadership works with whomever they can to achieve their will to power, and I don't think very many people are convinced that Syria isn't blatantly meddling in the affairs of Lebanon.

I see two reasons why the likes of AJ and similar crowds don't talk about it: 1. they don't care, because they can't fit things like that into their stories of global domination, or 2. they by default would place any of the above in league with the Evil Global Conspiracy for World Domination.

The impression I get is that they don't feel they have to be intricately informed on such subjects, because it doesn't deal with the balance of power in the countries they consider to be important (USA, UK, Western EU). I think that for some CTs there might be a tinge if prejudice in what they care to look at, too. Most of the time, though, it usually looks to me like it is a case where the typical CTist is uninformed enough in general that the few specific CT ideas that they focus on seem like the largest and most important issues, at the expense of any generalized global awareness.

I would see it a different way. The idea that Western civilisation is controlled by an evil shadowy conspiracy feels like forbidden knowledge, which makes its possessors special, elevated above the common herd. The idea that well-known repressive dictatorships are repressive dictatorships isn't special in any way, so where's the ego gratification from claiming you know something that everyone else knows? The only way to be certain your own personal knowledge of the world is unique, of course, is to live in your own fantasy world.

If evidence pointed to the USA killing Lebanese political figures or the USA backing the Arab militias in Sudan....then Alex Jones would be interested.

Well, even if there is no evidence pointing to the USA doing this, but some guy, fired from his government job in 1981 claims to have inside information that the USA is behind it... Well, Alex Jonesco will take it and run with it.

Smaller than you think - one of the women who works in that jewellery shop lives in the same cul-de-sac as - and is good friends with - my mam!

Very small world !

Know anyone who used to go to squiers milk bar when it was at the original kirkgate site?

Much as I hate to interrupt the ruminations of the Yorkshire Liberation Army -- how are Goathland and Whitby these days? I've gotten a great kick out of being the only Yank for miles, a couple of times -- there were news reports the other day of a real US-based conspiracy brewing. Maybe AJ will get involved.

Evidently, some New England (Vermont-based) lefties, and some southern "we aren't really white supremacists, oh my no, we just want to celebrate our (white) southern heritage crushed by the evil Yankees during the Second War for American Independence" league of the south types... What happened to this sentence?

Anyhow, my point is that leftie northerners who hate Bush, and rightie whitie southerners, are apparently starting to get together.

Purpose: to discuss Secession.

Left and right meet again, in the loony bin. (In many places in the south, that rhymes.)
