I have definitive proof of a girl being able to sense that someone was dying far away, with the two subjects totally isolated from one another, and no information of any kind passed about the dying woman's condition to the girl. Do you accept my challenge?

If you bothered to read anything about the Million Dollar Challenge, you would know JREF challenges YOU, not the other way around. JREF has the million dollars, so it challenges you to come and win the prize. Your task, if you want to try, is to ACCEPT the challenge.

Here's the application. Good luck.

Randi doesn't read this forum much.

Unless you can show this to be reapeterble under controled conditions I can't see you getting very far.

Believe me, I CAN prove it. The main thing I want to make sure of is that I am credited with initiating this challenge and I get the money for bringing this forward. I would hate for this challenge to get "lost" somehow in the mail or have someone else try to hijack my idea if you know what I mean.

How can I be guaranteed that I get the credit (and the cash) for this? I want a public record.

Randi, step forward and answer me publicly.

Its called registered mail. Use it. Keep receipts.

Its called keeping good records. Keep and notarize copies of all your claims. Keep a good file on all your correspondence.

Randi, step forward and answer me publicly.

Why don't you take the first step and read the rules of the challenge.

Krazy Miller,

Randi does not read this forum much - extremely rarely, in fact.

If you want to take the JREF challenge, you have to fill out the form you will find here:

http://www.randi.org/research/challenge.html

Follow the rules, please. Nobody gets preferential treatment.

Let us know how it went.

Something not quite right here.

So?

He is a new member who hasn't broken any rules. Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean he is out to get you. :)

I enjoyed Earthborn's response to his opening post/thread. I found his post to be thoughtful and honest. I know people who feel the same way he does; discovering these thoughts in their minds when they felt they were not prejudiced people.

Forget about who you think posted it and why they posted and try to focus on the subject of discussion. See if it interests you. If not, there are plenty of other threads that might or you could bring an interesting discussion of your own to the table. (Note that not everyone will find your subject interesting, either.)

Along with all the excellent suggestions so far about how to initiate a challenge, I'd also recommend reading this sample Challenge exchange for an example of how not to present your case.

If anything that the applicant said after Randi's "It qualifies. Apply." response sounds reasonable to you, or if you think that Randi's responses after that are unreasonable, don't even bother applying.

Randi may be many things but he is definitely not a fool-sufferer.

As I said in his other thread, a little time will tell.

But the content and writing style of those 4 posts are enough to raise legitimate suspicions. Or maybe you should go look up Mr. Sagan’s first posts.

Also, this is not about paranoia. Certain people do come here repeatedly to disrupt things. Those people follow predictable patterns. Pretending not to notice would be foolish.

Again, time will tell.

Ever noticed how often genghis used the thumbs up and thumbs down message icon?

just an observation....

I've opened a new thread for that guy...

And not a spectacularly interesting one at that.

Reports of sensing when someone is dying are very common. They are often accompanied by a visual apparition or hearing the voice of the person dying.

No chance of winning the $1,000,000 of course, no matter how many eye witnesses. And it's not repeatable.

Any chance of this being reported before the news of the death is received?

Any idea how often this happens, compared the number of deaths in toto?

Hey, I'm only asking because I want to know.

I think it has already been stated that this probably does not fit the challenge, unless your claim is that the girl can do this at will.

Nevertheless, I have some questions. Did the girl know the woman in any way, prior to this event? For instance, did she say "I think Auntie Loretta is dying" or just "someone is dying"?

Can I also add that my questions should in no way be interpreted taken as my having lack of respect? My thoughts go out to the woman's friends and family.

Yes. The entire ability to use psychic powers to predict and foresee something was documented on video. It is as clear as day and basically the proof is beyond ANY question.

This picture if you think about it should strike fear deep into Randi's heart.

Prepare to fork over the money.

What video is that?

This is Jenna Morasca, a contestant in Survivor 6. She is not dead.

So far, you have given no reason to do that.
