Penultimate Amazing
Racist texts sent to black people.
I've used TextNow before, but you can't use it to set up another Gmail or that type of account, because they won't accept "anonymous" numbers. (Trust me, I've tried lots of workarounds.) So, since TN is supposed to be anonymous, how did the senders determine who to send the messages to? Some of them were named by name in their texts. As far as I know, they don't take demographic information and it would seem to have to come from inside the company anyway.
This goes with my one small wish that the new Administration would actually do something useful and destroy all spammers. Getting calls for "business funding" is one thing, but this is magnitudes worse.
Now, I can't be sure that it is exactly related to the election although the timing is suspect, but I put the thread here instead of the USA Politics section.Authorities across the United States are investigating after racist text messages – some with references to “slave catchers” and “picking cotton” reminiscent of the country’s painful and bigoted past – have been received by children, college students and working professionals from unrecognized phone numbers in the wake of the presidential election.
