I saw this on digg and thought some people would get a mild chuckle out of this one.

It seems that McCain has a solid lock on the crazy white lady vote.

That's actually scary - as is the whole Bible Nut Factor in elections.

From the clip:
I really have a problem with that...and I'm not the only one.
...she says, seeming to think that somehow that makes her ridiculous stance seem normal, acceptable, reasonable, whatever.

Scary to think how many like her there are.

She says Obama's mother was an atheist. Where did she get that from? I just googled it, and of course the rumor is out there (though I hadn't heard it)... but I can't seem to find a source.

Sorta
In his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father Barack Obama wrote, "My mother's confidence in needlepoint virtues depended on a faith I didn't possess... In a land [Indonesia] where fatalism remained a necessary tool for enduring hardship... she was a lonely witness for secular humanism, a soldier for New Deal, Peace Corps, position-paper liberalism."
To many people, there isn't any difference between a secular humanist and an atheist. Take it for what you will.

the paranoid side of me is really thinking of stocking up on canned good and ammunition. If people like this are willing to go on national TV, say all this stuff, and actually believe it. What will be their, as well as the real crazies reaction if he wins.

The sad reality is that it is a virtual certainty that if Obama wins there will be an attempt on his life. Whether it will be some half assed crazy neo nazis or something more sophisticated remains to be seen.

But what kind of riots will we see if this happens of worse if it's successful?!

Truthfully, there isn't much. Secular Humanist used to be the code words that atheists used so they didn't shock people with the "A" word. I used to be a member of a SH group in Houston, and in reality, they were all atheists. The rare exception would be a religious person who believes religion should not be a factor in anything. Good luck finding one of those.

I think you'd have a hard time getting a secular humanist and an atheist to disagree on anything of a religious nature. Of course, politics is still an obstacle course. :D

I couldn't even understand that last line. What did he say?

"At the same way I take offense at Mr. Obama running for President, then they are either going to have to stay offended or get over it."

He takes offense at Obama running for President? What a douche.

According to the Reactionary conventional wisdom, if he loses, we won't have to worry about an assasination trigger.

“Heaven help us is Obama gets elected. Heaven help us if McCain gets elected (riots in the street). Either way, no one wins. There will be violence if McCain gets elected-but I am willing to take that chance!”

Just arm yourself and be ready Mattie. Always be ready for the ugly side of society.

I like the last line from the crazy lady about her husband: "he knows what the right decision is." My first thought was "Divorce?"

I don't know about his mother, but his father was certainly an Atheist. He outlines his father's Atheism in his terrific faith speech in 2006.

I think I can almost see the disgust under the interviewers professional neutrality.

That is one seriously scary lady. And the smug look on her face indicating that she had it all figured out and YOU JUST TELL HER JESUS ISN'T THE WAY AND SHE'LL SCRATCH YOUR EYES OUT!!!!

What a scary woman. Run away dude!!! Run far away!!!

I would add a couple of expletives.

Witness protection plan.
