Postponement of the Arab League Summit

I found one quote in the story very interesting...

Student Riyadh Ahmed Matar expressed widely held cynicism about the prospect for democratic change in the Arab world. "This is impossible. How can Arab (leaders) issue resolutions against themselves?" he said, calling the collapse "a natural outcome for a summit convened primarily to call for reform of Arab regimes."

Does anyone think the collapse of the Arab League Summit is due to the fact that Arab "leaders" refuse to pass democratic resolutions against themselves? And if they did pass democratic resolutions against themselves would that not threaten their very own regimes?

TUNIS, Tunisia, March 29 (UPI) -- Inter-Arab differences over ending violence and introducing political reforms forced the postponement of the Arab summit in Tunisia, reports said.

Official Arab sources said Arab foreign ministers who held preparatory talks in Tunis during the weekend, failed to agree on all clauses of the working paper, especially those pertaining to rejecting violence in the conflict with Israel and adopting political and economic reforms, which some Arab countries charged are imposed by outside parties, notably the United States.

Has anyone taken the time to think how racist the whole idea of an "Arab League" actually is?


Just imagine the global outcries of racism if countries like Canada, UK, France, Russia, USA, Austrailia, Sweden, Norway ect.. formed the "White League".
