It has come to my attention today, that Emma the forum owner of www.inspiredofspirit.com is selling readings on e-bay.

This forum has had a great success with many tv psychics & mediums visiting since it started. It also has many new members joining on a weekly basis, and one of the patrons of this site is Inbaal (a witch) who is also a resident psychic on the SKY TV Programme Psychic Interactive, a show where this forum owner now obviously works.

Emma has always maintained that her forum is a responsible and spiritual place for members to join, but yet seems to think it is ok to sell readings on e-bay!

Sorry to rant on, but just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention, as Emma's forum seems to get a lot of praise - wonder if Emma will now?

I've got to say, I don't see the difference between placing advertisements in the press or outside your place of business to placing them on eBay. It's just another means of attracting custom. What that custom actually is, is of course another matter.

Once a person has decided that he or she will knowingly exploit the vulnerable for 'psychic readings', then to me it seems largely irrelevant how they tout for business.

"Once a person has decided that he or she will knowingly exploit the vulnerable for 'psychic readings', then to me it seems largely irrelevant how they tout for business."

I tend to agree with your conclusion, but you seem to imply that this person Emma (of whom I know nothing) has made such a cynical decision.

Can you give evidence to support your conclusion?

There are other possibilities. Emma may be sincere , though mistaken; or she may actually have psychic powers.

As we are aware, the latter group, though happy to advertise for business, reject trying for the JREF $1million, on spiritual or other grounds.

Strange. I appear to have bitten my tongue. I wonder how that happened?

Good point, Soapy Sam -- I can't provide evidence that Emma is knowingly defrauding people: I don't know her either.

She is, of course, welcome to apply for the million to show that she has genuine powers. I doubt we're likely to discover whether she's sincere or not, though.

What I personally find very disturbing, is that on the forum, there is a thread "e-bay shop" where Emma states the proceeds from the readings will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of this forum. However, she then goes on to post (on the same thread) the following:

Thanks sooo much everyone!

It's going well, have sold 70 readings in just over 3 weeks, so hopefully we can pay the mortgage next month!

I love doing it, but it's tiring and took a lot of my time up, so sorry I haven't been around as much.

Hopefully, once I get established and more organised, I will be back on here more

Hugs to Shelly and Katie - hope to see more of you both on the forums too

Love,

Em xxx

Well if Emma has managed to acquire 70 readings in just over 3 weeks @ £12 a hit on average, that is no less than £14,560 net per year, bearing in mind business has only just started.

This is not only a poor excuse for her business activities, but also people on the forum actually believe this woman. It is just another fame & fortune seeking charlatan.

I think the more that we can name and shame the better, we may not stop them from working, but it does warn people of these charlatans, and I will continue to name and shame any that I become aware of.

Andrea- Don't fret. I'm sure the team of Remote Viewers at the Inland Revenue are keeping an eye on her.;)

I just posted a question regarding the JREF challenge on the eBay "ask a question" option. Anyone want to bet on her publishing it?

Brilliant but I am sure no one will answer it. I also posted the following in response to the aforementioned thread, and was swiftly shown the door, never been banned from a forum, but have been now!

Emma, I can fully appreciate raising funds to assist with the running & maintenance of this forum, but to sell readings on e-bay is just beyond belief.

You advertise your services as being a tv medium, when all this consists of just working for psychic interactive, & lets be realistic, most premium rate phone lines are well known for their scams, and most industries using them have an unsavory reputation.

I am sorry to say, but I think that yourself, Inbaal, Sharon Neil & David Wells, are on a downward slippery slope. They represent nothing spiritual whatsoever in my opinion, and all those who work for them do so for financial gain and publicity, but what a sad way to become slightly famous.

If any of you really are working with spirit, I feel that it is only negative energies that you all attract. Any true medium would know only too well, that working with spirit and delivering messages should be done with due diligence and compassion for the person receiving the message. Psychic Interactive or selling readings on e-bay represent none of this.

Some of you who read this may think I have posted out of spite or jealousy, but to the contrary. The people working for these services will one day have to answer to their own conscience and face the consequences of their actions, be it in this world or the next. People who work for spirit, provide proof of survival evidence, and do not need to work with tarot or other props, and do not make predictions.

And to brag about how 70 readings in the last 3 weeks will help to pay your mortgage, is even more disgusting.

If each reading sells for £12.95 and you are doing an average of 23 per week, that equates to £15,488 net per year, which is more than enough to cover the running of this forum. You advertise this as a spiritual forum, & have the audacity to brag about how your e-bay readings will go toward the cost of your mortgage. That is also not allowing for the proceeds from Psychic Interactive.

PS - to all the money hungry psychics out there, especially on Psychic Interactive, I do hope that you are claiming and paying tax on all of your earnings, or perhaps a word to the Inland Revenue / Customs & Excise would be prudent!!!!!

Shame on you all, you ought to be thoroughly disgusted with yourselves preying on poor vulnerable people, claiming you have powers that can help them, which you all clearly do not, because if you did a) you would not work in this way, & b) your own lives would be happy and normal, because nobody in their right mind would work for these companies / programmes. Perhaps a visit to your local psychiatrist and a reality check would be better suited.

"I'm going in".. Or actually, I did that yesterday. I analyzed a couple of their "ghost" images, and they actually agreed with my mundane explanations (lens flares and pareidolia). The only problem is, they now have begun to post more "genuine" images for me to analyze, but I don't have much time these days.

Anyway, I think I tuned into their world by presenting myself with theoretical unsubstantiated physics in my introductionary letter. Speaking high about infinity and extremes etc., I figured it might be up their alley, but I also "believe" it to some extent, I wouldn't go lie on a woo forum (except from that time I told a woo on a woo forum my power animal was a sloth, that was great fun).

Great letter btw Andrea, but I also see why they banned you. You basically called them insane frauds in quite strong words :)

Us at BadPsychics.com will be taking a special interest in her and her claims.

As for her appearing on Most Haunted Live. does sitting on your ass in the audience class you as appearing on something?

Cause thats all she has done.

I agree with you Jon, Emma Hunt has no right to advertise her services, fooling members of the public into believing that she has worked on the Most Haunted Live shows.

I would also like add, that this thread originated from Jon's site, where I asked the person who found the readings on e-bay, if I could post it on here.
