Some of you will have seen me ranting on before about the fake explosives detectors e.g. ADE651 and GT200.

So, this is not me ranting, but someone else, and very effectively too!

Please read and spread around if it makes no sense to you too! And this is not the whole story. If you are interested we can come up with endless cases where the UK Government and Police seem interested in prosecuting much more minor crimes than the fake explosives detector frauds.

Despite the efforts of James Randi, who first exposed the Quadro Tracker back in 1995, and has documented all the variants since, from MOLE, to GT200, to ADE651, to SNIFFEX, to ALPHA 6 and beyond (little Buzz Lightyear joke there folks! BOOM BOOM), and the following stalwart campaigners:

Techowiz, Lumpy Low, Andres Tonini, Bob Couttie, Meiron Jones and Caroline Hawley of BBC Newsnight, Clinton Rogers of BBC Somerset, The New York Times, and many other journalists and bloggers around the World

The Fake Explosives and other Detectors Fraud goes on, with few if any prosecutions anywhere, and many deaths, lost limbs and destroyed families as a result.

The ADE651 is still in use in Iraq and bombs still kill people there. It is still in use in Mexico. People like Shoun Huckabee (a U.S. citizen who was arrested on a false positive by the GT200 and tortured in Mexico -- Google Shoun Huckabee ---) still suffer from the continued use of the GT200.

It is likely that similar devices are still in use in the Phillipines, China, India, Pakistan, and many other dangerous places, yet the British Salesmen are still free! How? Why? Spread it around!

I totally agree Dubious. Last I heard - a couple of years ago - some high up UK MPs were involved, and 'action would be taken' to deal with this problem (mostly because British lives were being put at risk).

What happened to all that?

Indeed, British M.P.s are largely a mealy mouthed bunch of members (in the other sense of the word!). Only interested in spouting off when the cameras are in front of them, or a glass of champagne, or a free horse ride, or a nice fat cheque, or ...........................Feel free to add to the list!

We warned the UK Defence Select Committee in 2008 after Randi offered the MDC to the ADE651, and still no real action!

In fact we understand Gary Bolton who sold the GT200 to Mexico, Thailand and elsewhere, may well have fled to Dubai.
