Everyone keeps talking about the phone logs. "Let's see what the phone logs say - how many phone calls were made to Robert Novak in July" or "did Wesley Clark call Karl Rove - check the phone logs!"
I can see incoming phone calls being logged, so maybe you can check out the Clark call happening or not (no one has found evidence of it), but if you were in the White House, and making phone calls that broke the law (outing a CIA agent's identity) wouldn't you just find a pay phone or call from some common room somewhere so it couldn't be traced to you? How does the phone system work in the White House? Would someone high in the administration only ever make calls from their own office for some reason?
