Has anyone watched this yet? I saw the first episode (I think there's going to be 3 in the mini-series, shown on Discovery Channel) and it was pretty neat.

Phil Plait sounded pretty alarmist in the episode, but my guess is that he's trying to get more people interested in the stuff (not a bad agenda by any mean).

One thing I was wondering, is how representative the "nuke" experiments were. As I understood it, they used some sort of bullet as a model for the nuke to try to blow up the asteroid (those experiments were all failures, which showed the movies are wrong... who'd have guessed it ;)). But they were obviously not "real" mini-nukes. Would the heat and radiation from a nuclear explosion have any effect that their model bullet couldn't reproduce? I'm guessing no, but I know really nothing about that stuff.

Anyway, it's a fun documentary and I'm eager to see the next episodes. :)

Thanks. Bah, I actually ran a search before posting this and found nothing. :boggled: The forum search really blows.
