So it seems Don the Con met with Disgraced "General" David Petraeus as - get this - a candidate for Secretary of State.

Here's a guy who was actually found guilty of emailing classified information to some hog he was banging on the side.

Hypocrisy from the GOP?

Say it ain't so!

This is completely different (apparently)

David Petraeus was in a loving extra-marital relationship with this woman, his biographer, and deliberately shared classified information with her.

OTOH Hillary was careless with an email server, but as yet there's no proof that classified information was compromised.

If you can't see that the first case is merely a left-wing witch hunt against a man who has repeatedly fought and died for his country (and was therefore due some extra lovin') and who took a considered and reasoned decision to share this information with his main squeeze purely out of love for his country then shame on you

He didn't email her. He gave her access to his private diaries (not in electronic form) for use in her authorized biography of him. She also had a security clearance, although not one that authorized her to see the compartmentalized information that was contained in his diaries.

Not sure if his diaries were marked classfied, not that that's in any way relevant to his guilt or innocence. Hillary's apologists made a big deal about the difference between something being marked classified and not.

He is not any more disgraced that your hero crooked Hillary. Delineate the difference between what Peatraeus did as opposed to Hillary.

Paula Broadwell is Major Paula Broadwell Peatraeus' biographer. He gave her some classified material that she wasn't cleared for. Need I remind you what Hillary did? In many ways it was worse, both in the amount of material that was exposed and her lies regarding what she did...

If you're concerned with hypocrisy, just look in the mirror. What he did doesn't hold a candle to what Hillary did, yet you classify him as disgraced. That is the epitome of hypocrisy.

If you're going to post about something it helps if you know what you're talking about.

Yes please do and in particular show:

  • Where there were proven breaches of security with information falling into unauthorised hands
  • Where charges were pressed against Hillary
  • Where Hillary took a plea deal to avoid jail time

Oh yes.... let the hypocrisy flow.

He admitted guilt, paid a fine and is currently on probation for it.

Totally different than a person who was investigated multiple times and found to be innocent.

LOL!

Yeah, apparently just handing someone classified information because you're having an affair is legit. Apparently Republicans will sell out not only their moral ethics, but professional ones as well...but still. Hillary.

Perhaps this is the new way of looking at things, being guilty of something is much less bad than being accused of something but proof being lacking. If you're guilty of something then it's out in the open and you can be rehabilitated (I do so hope that an equally enlightened view is taken w.r.t. all of the 3 million people in the US penal system and not just those with close ties to the administration) and the boil has been lanced so to speak.

If there are merely unproven allegations (or worse yet allegations which have been thoroughly investigated and not enough evidence has been found to justify a prosecution) then that's worse, not only are you guilty of the thing (obviously ) but you're also really sneaky at covering everything up and/or peverting the investigations against you.

See how it works ?

That way Trump's multiple lawsuits, settlements, self admitted sexual assaults and so on are fine (because he's guilty) because although he's a bit shifty, he's incompetent enough to get caught but someone against whom there are persistent unproven allegations must be a criminal mastermind and therefore very, very frightening

Your sarcasm is disgraceful. How dare you impinge a man who has served his county for most of his adult life. He is fortunate that he did not die.

Yes, Hillary's lawyers only read the headers or so they said. How to you know that Broadwell read more than the topic sentence in each paragraph.

The wording was that Hillary was "extremely careless" with classified information, which is similar wording that constitutes a felony... Her lawyers and her server maintainers had access to the information, so you don't know that it wasn't compromised. That totally made up garbage. The fact that it was exposed constitutes compromised classified information whether she's you're political hero or not...

You should ask the FBI, they seem to think your argument doesn't make any sense.

FBI Director James Comey on Thursday refuted assertions that email abuses by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton outweighed security lapses by former CIA and U.S. Central Command head David Petraeus, calling the retired general’s crimes “intentional misconduct.”

Extremely careless vs. just handing it right over.

Which one is worse?

Who was found innocent. You're inventing something that doesn't exist. She is guilty as hell and he outlined how and why, but Comey contrived that it was not reasonable to prosecute her.

Oh get over yourself :p

That's exactly the kind of wrapping-yourself-in-the-flag hyperbole much beloved of the right wing I was parodying

She was researching a biography and he had passed this information to his biographer (and btw adultertous lover) to help with that research. She'd have been a pretty poor biographer if she'd skimmed her material.

Oh, and the plea deal

Not my hero [snark]though it would have been "your" and not "you're" btw[/snark]

Repeatedly investigated - conclusion reached that there wasn't enough to warrant a prosecution.

Remember of course Trump isn't saying that the cases are equivalent, he's saying that Hillary is far worse.

Who was found innocent. You're inventing something that doesn't exist. She is guilty as hell and he outlined how and why, but Comey contrived that it was not reasonable to prosecute her.

Uh, no.

You people have a fascinating way to describe someone who is guilty. No further investigations after the FBI found multiple times that there is no reason to pursue the matter further.

Vs. a guy who admitted to handing over classified info to some 2 bit bimbo he was banging on the side.

Oh, we all know the answer. Why did you ask?

Falling into authorized hands is not a requirement. As you well know no charges were brought....YET.
Stick around for a rematch.

HAHAHA

It's over junior. There will be no further reporting on Clinton's emails.
