Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:

It is outrageous and shocking, but not surprising, that Pat Robertson once again has suggested that God will punish Israel's leaders for any decision to give up land to the Palestinians. His remarks are un-Christian and a perversion of religion. Unlike Robertson, we don't see God as cruel and vengeful.

We would hope that good Christian leaders would distance themselves from Pat Robertson's remarks. It is pure arrogance for Robertson to suggest that he has divine knowledge of God's intent and purpose based on his interpretation of scripture.

Well there's a Jewish response. This is an opportunity to post all the 'Good Christian Leader' condemnations that will be coming in.

Pat Robertson and Fred Phelps should be thrown in a mental institution where they can fellate each other all day in their bloody "righteous" stupidity.

I love Pat, he's hilarious. my favorite patism is his remarks on the people of Dover. Apparently they will be struck down by disease and pestalence for not allowing the 'evolution is just a theory' line to be read out before their kid's class on evolution. His 700 club TV show is equally entertaining. Having never been to the states I used to think that the majority of Americans were like this, thank goodness for institutes like JREF!

My favorite recent patism was when, during the trial Dover trial where the ID guys were trying to show that ID had nothing to do with religion, and the town voted out the pro-ID school board, Pat said (paraphrasing) "Dover's gonna get it for chasing God outta town!"

yep, thats the one, its he adorable! I'd love it if he came a knocking on my door, just like the moormons, do evangelicals do that?

Pat Robertson would come knocking at your door only if there were some big bucks in it for him.

And of course, he would have his TV crew following him.

Everyone knows that God smites the wicked.

Of course, we also know that when good people get stricken down, it is because God has a "higher plan", or because he is "calling them home".

If you are not satisfied with this, just remember that God works in mysterious ways. If that doesn't satisfy your questions, then perhaps you are wicked.

Four further clarification on who is good and who is wicked, watch Pat Robertson.

And please give generously.

Hmm. So am I the wicked or part of the master plan for the cancer?

Too bad "God" doesn't give Pat Cancer. I'd love to see the song he sings about that.

Oh yes, believe me, they do.

I've had many different missionaries at my door. The Mormons are my favorites, always pleasant people that I often invite back for a meal and maybe watch a movie. It can't be easy for them, being so far from home and live on so little. The Jehova's Witnesses are also always pleasant, and I've had many good bible discussions with them. In my experience, the JW's really know their bible! And they interpret it pretty much the same way I do, only difference is that they believe in it while I see it as fiction.

Then there's the Evangelicals... Oh boy... The secong I open my door, they're there blabbering on about Satan, hellfire and everlasting torture. I've never yet invited an Evangelical into my home.

The only way you'll ever get Pat Robertspam to shut his f***ing mouth is to quit sending him money. People groove on his form of cruelty, for some reason, and the only thing that he's going to learn from people's protests over his barbaric spewing is that if he gets it right, he gets media play. Once that happens, the donations just start rolling in, because "we gotta stand up for GOD!"

And the funny thing is, you'd do more for standing up for God by reading Michael Shermer or Carl Sagan than you would by listening to one sentence from Pat Robertson.

The best that would then happen would be that Robertson would adjust his statements so that people *would* send money. He'd still be as hateful as before, he'd just cover it up with a layer of hypocrisy.

Of course, the best *possible* outcome would be for Robertson to drop dead.

You don't ever want to invite an Evangelical into your home, because then they can enter your home anytime they want!

Or is that for Vampires?

I always get them confused...

The main difference is that crucifixes attract them instead of chase them away :p

Didn't Jesus say something like "Do you think these people were any more wicked than you? No, but if you do not repent you too will die." when a tower fell on a bunch of people and killed them?
