Paranormal or Coincidence?

Okay. Here Goes.

Now this is an easy equation that I thought I would share. Please give me your opinions on whether it is just a coincidence or is it of paranormal activity lurking beneath our natural system of communication: Numbers & Words.

The experiment.

This is how you set it up:

On a piece of paper, write down each letter of the alphabet and space out each letter. Like this:

A B C D E F G H I J k L M N O P

Q R S T U V W X Y Z

THEN, above each letter starting with A, write 6 x 1=6

above B write 6 x 2=12

above C write 6 x 3=18

above D write 6 x 4=24

and so forth, all the way to Z.

what I am saying is then A = 6, B = 12, C = 18 D = 24 E = 30

...and so on. Get it?

Okay, Now;

Make sure you have all your numbers above all your letters and no mistakes.

Take the word C O M P U T E R and add all your numbers up that are above each letter of the word.

There will be a final answer. I am not going to give the number here on this post. But I invite that anyone who tries this experiment give the final answer on THEIR post. That way I will know you have succeeded the right answer.

All I have to do now is develop a new TEST using a system similar to this that will prove that there is definitely paranormal activity in our words and numbers. No matter what language. I invite your challenges.

Coincidence or Paranormal?

Coincidence, of course. The Norwegian language is not suggesting that a computer is the tool of the Beast. At all. Oh, I'm sure you can make up some mathematic formula that "proves" it's so, but hell, one can make formulas proving that God = the number of the beast as well.

in a way i am relieved...

But in another way, you wanted to be right? Well, never mind that. I'm sure the relief comes first. ;)

Anyway, I'm no expert on this field, but I know that the human mind is notorious for seeking out patterns where there are none. It takes a real effort to understand that sometimes, things just randomly occur in a way that seems to make sense. I would suggest that you acquire yourself a kaleidoscope and keep it on a place easily seen. Take a good look at all those pretty patterns, and then ask yourself if the pattern is real, or whether it's just a mess of coloured stones that with the help of mirrors is reflected in such a way that it seems like a pattern.

And whenever you discover something like that "computer" adding up to 666 with but a simple formula, you should ask yourself "Is this just a kaleidoscope pattern?". I hope that can help you keep a sceptical eye on things. ;)

Magical Number

Hey, scribbles, try "Bullshhit" (pretend it is me trying to emphasize my point).

Also, try "Supercalifragilisticexpealidotious"

Oh my Ed, the dreaded 2106. What could be worse?

Welcome to the forum, but you're gonna have to augment your "666" with some critical thinking skills to avoid some serious flak here.

What “corrupt” “corporate” “conjuring” “charm quark” can “conceivably” and so “chillingly” “come across” a “competent” “communicable” “calculation” with such “closeness” in “causality” to a “cdrom drive”? Perhaps “Confucius” or “Cesar Chavez” “come to mind”!

All of the above quoted words and phrases begining with the letter "c" also result in 666. Out of about 34000 words and phrases that begin with "c", I found 252 matches (assuming spaces are not counted as anything).

I hope this "clear stuff" will "come in handy". I'm off to "catholicize" a "Celestinian" "church owl" in a "Central Africa" "civic center" with a "coconut cake" or whatever else may "come to mind". :D

I hope "scribbles" is "convinced" that this is "crackbrained" "cajolery". ;)

You forgot Æ, Ø and Å.

Now, try again. ;)
Are you talkin' t' me? I didn't forget them. But keep in mind I'm using an English (mostly American) dictionary list, wihch has very few entries with these characters. Entries with Æ in most cases have equivalents entries with "ae".

The numerical-equivalent equation presented by scribbles did not provide a method for equating characters outside of A-Z (and I assumed SPACE).

The reason I said "about" 34000 entries is becuase the list of entries includes entries with characters outside of the A-Z & SPACE range. I didn't bother to calculate the exact number of these entries, but estimated the total within the range at about 34000.
