Paltalk colored text question

Sometimes on Paltalk I've seen text lines that print in a range of colors, like shifting from red to blue in the course of a sentence. I know this is not just from changing the colors from one letter to the next. One reply I got from a guy who did it (who was not very well-versed in English), said it was a program.

Is this something that is inside Paltalk, an external program, or some sort of html code?
