Arab lawyers criticize the United States - Oct. 9 2004
AMMAN, Jordan, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The Arab Bar Association Saturday blasted "American and Zionist insolence," urging lawyers around the world to "defend the heritage of humanity."

The president of the association, Ibrahim al-Samlati, said "violating international law with the American insolence and Zionist aggression, backed by the West and America in particular, calls on lawyers everywhere to defend the heritage of humanity in a world based on justice, equality and abiding by international laws and charters."
Hahahaha, classic forked tongue rhetoric. Syria, a harsh dictatorship, occupies Lebanon against U.N. resolutions... The West Bank and Gaza are run by a dictator who refuses to abide by basic Palestinian law... Iran is run by a theocratic medieval dictatorship which supports just about every terror group in the middle east and is developing the 'bomb' against U.N. wishes... Saudi Arabia is a theocratic medieval dictatorship-monarchy who treats women like cattle, founded whabbism and is responsible for 9-11... Kuwait, Qatar, U.A.E., Oman, Yemen, all psuedo theocratic dictatorship-monarchies with no free vote or freedom of speech...Sudan, (see: Dafur)...Egypt, a "democracy" run by the same guy since 14 October 1981...Algeria, Lybia, etc....and these comedians are lecturing about "justice, equality and abiding by international laws and charters"...
:dl:

Indeed, that is ironic. As funny, I think, as Bush using an Iraqi non-adherence to a UN resolution as a pretext for invading Iraq, in violation of the UN.

Yes, I get it... forget all those silly theocratic dictatorships who lack the very freedoms the president of the Arab Bar Association , Ibrahim al-Samlati, is talking about...and get right to the real issue at hand, Bush is Hitler...;)

Sorry, you are right. I was uncouth of me to make an irrelevant comparison to your irrelevant observation. I apologize.

My observation is not irrelevant. I find it the height of hypocrisy when Ibrahim al-Samlati president of the Arab Bar Association lambastes America regarding justice, equality and abiding by international laws and charters. especially if one looks at the records of Syria, Iran, Sudan, Lybia, Saudi Arabia, etc.

You on the other hand give the typical Euroweenie response which has made the world what it is today. You compare America to Syria, Saudi Arabia & Iran, you think Bush is equal to Assad, Ayatollah Ali Hoseini-Khamenei & the House of Saud. And if I criticize Ibrahim al-Samlati president of the Arab Bar Association for his obvious hypocrisy you launch right into Euroweenie sarcasm.

Now Australian sarcasm kicks in. How droll. I am guessing that if it was up to a_u_p and DanishDynamite America would have to pay Saddam damages in a Hague courtroom for stopping him from oppressing his people... ;)

Afghans turn out for first presidential election - Sat Oct 9, 1:08 AM ET
KABUL (AFP) - Voting began in Afghanistan for the first direct presidential election in the country's history, with queues forming at polling stations despite militant threats to violently disrupt the vote.
Yes, America sure is evil...to bad the Taliban wasn't still in power so that they could "defend the heritage of humanity in a world based on justice, equality and abiding by international laws and charters".

And the term "Euroweenie" is what ?
It is a term I give to Europeans who villify America more than they villify the cruel dictator who the war removed. Nobody has to like war but if you are going to argue that America is evil - because they removed Saddam from power - or argue that Ibrahim al-Samlati president of the Arab Bar Association lambasting America regarding justice, equality and abiding by international laws and charters is "irrelevant" given the lack of freedoms, lack of rights for minorities and women in Islamic countries then no wonder the world is so "f"'d up.
