Obama's Deficit Lies

Do ANY of you Obama supporters even begin to grasp the damage Obama is about to do to this country?

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is projecting that his current spending and proposed plan of action will run up a deficit of $1.75 TRILLION dollars by October of this year. And result in a deficit of $1.17 TRILLION dollars next fiscal year. And almost $1 TRILLION dollars the year after that. It will then fall to about half a trillion dollars, reaching Obama's promised $533 billion dollar deficit the year after that (2012). Then they project deficits will remain over half TRILLION dollars every single year with the deficit actually climbing by 2019 back up to $712 billion dollars. Total the next ten years and its over $8.5 TRILLION dollars added to the National Debt ... almost 80 percent higher than it is now.

And that assumes his socialist and envirnomentalist policies don't crash the US economy ... which they very well may do because he's going to decrease the incentives to make money by significantly raising taxes ... not just on the wealthy (and he's going to soak them) but on everyone through increased prices on every product imaginable. And he's also going to saddle the business with all manner of environmental nonsense (to appease another important wing of the democrat party).

And that deficit estimate assumes we don't have another 9/11 type attack ... or something worse. Which very well might happen if he and democrats are as naive about foreign policy and national defense as they have already demonstrated themselves to be the past many years. Remember that 9/11, by some calculations, did a trillion dollars worth of damage to the US economy. And we are facing threats far larger than that now.

And that deficit estimate assumes he and the democrats don't promise still more expensive and inefficient ways that their *nanny state* can take care of us all. It assumes we do nothing about reparations ... that many of Obama's supporters are asking to see. It assumes they don't further increase spending when they find what they've done so far doesn't really help matters. There's a saying that applies to democrat thinking when it comes to spending ... "it's never enough".

In short, this budget truly demonstrates that Obama is STUCK ON STUPID.

Do you Obama supporters NOW see the consequences of putting socialist tax and spend democrats in charge of all three branches of the government? They may permanently destroy the productivity of this country ... in search of a pipe dream that is unrealizable. Look at it this way. The US spent over $10 TRILLION dollars the last 40 years in the war against poverty started by Lyndon Johnson back in the 1960's. Yet the number of people designated as poor in this country today is just as large as it was back then. The dream that socialists like Obama have to end poverty and give everyone as nice a house as he has, to give them health care equal to his and Biden's, give them the same type of education he had, and all the other good things in life that I think he guiltily enjoys (purchased mostly with tax payer dollars, by the way) will turn into a nightmare for all of us. His policies are going to STEAL nearly $10 TRILLION dollars over the next 10 years from the pockets of people who work ... people who are the lifeblood of this nation's prosperity. And he's going to transfer it to people who did not produce that wealth.

And remember, we have only mentioned the deficit so far. We haven't included the portion of his socialist agenda that will be covered by those greatly increased taxes. More than likely, we are talking about an additional $20 TRILLION dollars being stolen from the pocket of taxpayers by these greedy, guilt-ridden, naive leftists who want to give it to their "poor", needy, victimized constituents. Beggers and Choosers.

And even more damning, I predict that in the end they will accomplish nothing towards achieving the socialist goals they've laid out ... other than to bankrupt America just like they now have bankrupted California. Because it isn't the beggars who have made our country wealthy. It's the choosers and make no mistake ... he's going after the choosers. And when even the socialist fools in Washington finally come to the realization that their spending has bankrupt the country, I predict, ironically, that the solution they offer will be the same as the solution they now offer to Californians ... higher taxes. Talk about STUCK - ON - STUPID.

The fact of the matter is that Obama is a liar. I thought I'd never be able to say this, but I think he may indeed be a bigger liar than Bill Clinton ever was, and he's achieved that status in less than month in office. I've already detailed on this forum at least half a dozen lies that he's uttered over the past several years ... ones that are obvious to anyone with half a brain and the tiniest bit of real skepticism. But now he has truly outdone himself. He must feel almost godlike in his ability to lie to you Obama supporters and get away with it. He must secretly think you are fools.

Obama was a liar when he claimed during 2008 that we were in the worst crisis since the Great Depression ... one that necessitated such drastic action ... one that the free market couldn't solve without unparalleled government spending. Obama is a liar when he claims he will cut the deficit in half by 2012. It's a promise based on shady math and logic. It's a promise he must know (because he's a smart guy) that he will never be able to keep because it depends on so many variables outside his control and on rosy assumptions that assume his policies will not hurt the business community in any way. But history proves time and again that higher taxes do hurt business and reduce growth.

The CBO already predicted that just the stimulus bill spending alone is going to reduce the GDP by 0.1 to 0.3 percent annually by 2015 or so. And that's again assuming some rather rosy assumptions about the economy between now and then. And that's without including the effect of all the other trillions in new spending he's proposed over just the next 4 years. Someone described the stimulus package as "generational theft" and I think that's fitting. Obama is not only stealing from us but from our children so that he and his democrat pals can buy poor voters now.

Even if Obama achieves his $533 billion dollar deficit goal, it will be significantly higher than it ever was under Bush, at least prior to this bailout/stimulus nonsense that began after FY2008 ended. Obama claimed in his un-state of the union address that the past deficits are what got us in this economic mess. Well if that were true, then logically the solution would be to reduce the deficit below what it was before the mess occurred ... before the bailout/stimulus spending was *needed*. If he really believes what he said, he should be promising to reduce the deficit to well below the value it was at the end of FY2008. Half of that figure would be a deficit goal around $240 billion dollars. So, obviously, Obama is clearly lying yet again ... playing the American public for fools just so he can get his socialist agenda in place before they wise up ... much like Lyndon Johnson did when he first became President. And we are still suffering the consequences of LBJ's hastiness. I wonder how many generations will be saddled with the stupidity that Obama and the most leftist group of democrats ever to hold office are now putting into place?

Obama is also a liar when he claims his proposal will only "add to our deficits in the short term". The OMB predictions prove that is nothing but a lie. His proposal is going to significantly increase deficits over the long term. He must have known about those predictions long before he uttered that claim. Which makes him a certified, baldfaced, socialist liar.

And finally, he is a liar to claim that his proposals will actually solve any of the problem he named. History proves over and over that socialist governments can not manage economies and cannot solve these problems ... and Obama's socialist government will be no different. He'll probably only end up destroying the free market and our freedom.

Do people in the real world actually use phrases like 'Stuck on stupid'? It's almost as annoying as words like 'transplendent'.

Well, now I'm on familiar ground, feeling scared witless. Eight years was too short a time to be so paralyzed with fear.

Oh No! Quick! Call Briscoe County Jr.!!!!! He'll save us!

....Obama is also a liar ...
You called Obama a liar about the state of the economy in your other "Obama's a liar" thread. Reality has proven Obama to not have lied. Why would we think you'd be correct in calling him a liar now?

You know... stuff... taxing rich people... government spending money.

You know. Socialism.

I'm not sure that's as much a worry for me as when taxes that affect the very groups they apparently want to provide relief for are affected. Raising the Gas tax comes to mind, as well as his childrens health insurance program. The former so far has been rejected by the Obama administration, but congress still seems to be endorsing it (I'm hoping he never approves it or the mileage tax, and it's not the tax component that creeps me out). The latter deserves a face_palm, considering he picked a bad group to tax IMO

Can't one of the hundreds of Obama minders convince him that reckless spending on useless busy work pork, paying above market rate union wages and raising taxes on the achievers is a recipe for a new FDR like depression? It isn't that complicated.

On the bright side, we've found out how to make the democrats like the huge spending of the Bush presidency. Put Obama's name in front of the deficit and it's all good.

Well, obviously it is so simple that you know more than this idiot:

While economic stimulus fever is sweeping the nation one cable news channel at a time, some are skeptical it won’t do anything – because it isn’t large enough.

Joseph Stiglitz, winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economic Science and the most cited economist in the world according to a Research Papers in Economics/University of Connecticut December 2008 study, told Bloomberg TV on Jan. 8 it will fall short.

“It will boost it,” Stiglitz said. “The real question is – is it large enough and is it designed to address all the problems. The answer is almost surely it is not enough, particularly as he’s had to compromise with the Republicans.”

Bush had to fight off a global recession of this size?

What should we do, BAC? Oh, what should we do?!?

How about expect President Obama not to lie to us? After all, he promised us CHANGE during the campaign and a more truthful administration than the last one. Didn't he? And you bought into that promise when you voted for him. Didn't you? Am I being unreasonable?

Upchurch (prior to the election) - "Yeah, I am aware that cuts really need to be made across the board in order to balance the budget. The three biggest chunks of our budget goes to the DoD, Health and Human Services, and paying off our debt."

You still aware of that, Upchurch?

What are his socialist policies?

I'm surprised you even have to ask this question. Or should I call you Rumpelstilzchen and assume you slept through all the threads on that topic here at JREF the last year? :D

Let's see ... Wikipedia says

Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, creates an unequal society, and does not provide equal opportunities for everyone in society. Therefore socialists advocate the creation of a society in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly based on the amount of work expended in production, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.

That sure sounds a lot like what Obama is advocating.

More from Wikipedia ...

Socialism is not a concrete philosophy of fixed doctrine and program; its branches advocate a degree of social interventionism and economic rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. Another dividing feature of the socialist movement is the split between reformists and the revolutionaries on how a socialist economy should be established. Some socialists advocate complete nationalization of the means of production, distribution, and exchange; others advocate state control of capital within the framework of a market economy.

Again, many of Obama's proposals would certainly fall within that description.

More from Wikipedia ...

Social democrats propose selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies and tax-funded welfare programs and the regulation of markets.

Again, that sounds really close to what Obama is proposing.

You clear on this now, Darat?

Is it any wonder that socialist organizations around the country (and even overseas) supported Obama's election?

Any more question, Darat?
