First off the two winners from October

moon gravity should trap sunlight just as earth gravity does...
we still have an 'unproven theory' of man walking on the moon.. i
also theorise moon gravity is greater than what nasa astronomers prophesize it to be how else
could we explain it's magnetic pull on ocean tides all the moon craters pulling-on nearby flying
objects that would have otherwise crash landed on earth...there's alot nasa is not telling us...

&

How is it so far-fetched. Who says they only designed them on the dates that they tell us? You really think they would hypothetically admit that the towers were designed prior to the release of the Lord of the Rings books? So really any date they give us is not trustworthy.

If they can predict the two world wars decades ahead of time then why can't they predict the design of the Twin Towrs decades ahead of time? Since they would need a massive, catalyzing event such as a "New Pearl Harbor" wouldn't it be logical from the start to muse about building two massive skyscrapers to blow up? Crashing planes into buildings has much to offer in terms of scaring the public, so it's a rather logical plan any would-be plotter would devise. So with that in mind they easily could have envisioned plane and building technology improving to create a 9/11 scenario back in the 30's or 40's.

Does it still sound ridiculous?
Congratulations! Here is the virtual award

Okay, so now the twenty finalists, picked by me, for the month of November!

1) That math stuff is really deceptive.
Sarcasm aside, the real problem with Bazant is that as soon as you take what he's actually saying outside the cloak of mathematical jargon, it becomes immediately apparent that what he's proposing is absurd.
*****
2) Also math has cooties.
Calculations, smalculations. You don't believe your own eyes, so why would calculations do anything?
*****
3) Starting next week I'm going to demand everyone address me as "Darth Mage Travis, Android Commander."
After considering the fact that I spend 25 years studying the subject, considering the fact that I published on internet the result of my studies ,considering that Mrs..Lipstadt is using a "professor' title I decided to award myself with exactly the same scientific status.
*****
4) Perhaps the solution to begin finding out the fist bit is to understand just who, or what, the second bit is. Research...radical idea!
I only know that if you, Archtct, do not have any first-hand technical or scientific expertise of what you are talking about, then I will believe Professors Jones and Harrit rather than I will believe you, a barrage of lame ad-homs notwithstanding.

I don't know what or who is Arup.
*****
5) Don't make me prove that trans-dimensional Sarlaccs actually exist before I go blaming it for the disappearance of the car that you let me borrow.
I don't see why I should have to prove that a particular weapon exists before I make comments on the mechanism of destruction.
*****
6) Old Testament lifespans are again on the horizon.
So I can tell my grandchildren (I will probably not have any grandchildren but anyway) in the future: See! Look at this thread, back from 2010!!! That's over 500 years ago.
*****
7) WTC7 was a "leverage and angular momentum free zone."
Yes really. I did not state that only simultaneous destruction of a building's supports will result in free fall. Because for example, there could be a force other than gravity acting downward. I did say that WTC 7 could only be in free fall if all supports were removed simultaneously. Because there was no obvious other force than gravity acting downward.
*****
8) In other news the populace will demand that astronomers resume their search for the planet Vulcan.
No, I'm saying that very basic questions arise from simply looking at the collapses. Questions which should be able to be answered without having to allude to hidden, "inner" processes which defy everyday, intuitive understanding of gravity and Newtonian physics.
*****
9) Also, maybe it's that ice that makes the poles cold and not the other way around?
Has anyone noticed how windy has been lately? I think it has to do with all those windmills. Perhaps they were wired incorrectly so instead of using wind to produce electricity, they are using electricity to produce wind. This should be investigated ASAP.
*****
10) I shudder to think what this poster thinks the dust should have really done.
Low Gravity and zero atmospheric resistence mean the dust should not appear to form arcs and should not fall to ground immediately.
Unless the video was filmed on Earth in a studio.
*****
11) Youtube addiction has been vastly under estimated.
I found a guy that was attacking me on any post that I implied the Government might have presented misleading facts. I thought it was odd so I went to his channel. It turns out that he had been logged on for over 3 weeks. Nobody stays logged onto youtube for weeks at a time , clearly he is an agent for the government
*****
12) I'm guessing the highlighted part wasn't meant to be rhetorical but was an actual honest plea for help.
How does sublimation occur in a vacuum?
Provide an example.

Do you even know what sublimation is?It is the process where a solid such as ice becomes a gas such as steam without passing through an intermediate liquid phase such as water. Sublimation is slow.
Sublimation needs air to occur.
It cannot occur in a vacuum.
*****
13) What material are these buildings that can't be demolished made out of?
However, in accordance with the US laws governing construction of skyscrapers buildings designers had to submit some satisfactorily demolition project before their construction project could be approved by the Department of Buildings. No one could be allowed to build a skyscraper that can't be demolished in the future. This is the main point of the skyscrapers' in-built nuclear demolition features. Ironically, such a nuclear demolition scheme of a skyscraper is not meant to actually demolish the respective skyscraper, especially considering that no one has any practical experience in demolishing skyscrapers by such means - it is only intended to convince the Department of Buildings to permit the skyscraper's construction whatsoever. It appears that all designers and proponents of such nuclear demolition schemes sincerely hope that their ideas would not be put to use during their life-time.
*****
14) Well I know when I think of "platinum" I think "Israel."
Iran is at the leading forefront in the development of nuclear transmutation processes currectly focused on synthesising Platinum /Osmium / Rhodium as a byproduct of the nuclear fission.

Iran is looking to export these precious metals and the zionists are scared poopless that the controlled banking empire would collapse with the groundbreaking of revolutionary technologies.
*****
15) It does, however, prove they don't work.
I'm sure I could think up a million arguments that won't work in court. But the fact that they won't work doesn't disprove anything.
****
16) More cartoon physics.
If an airplane crashes into some steel beams, yeah, there will be damage to the steel beams, BUT there will also be damage to the plane.

Videos of 9:03AM do not show damage to the plane, therefore those videos do not depict a plane crashing into steel beams at the south face of WTC 2.

It's no good saying, "Yeah, but the plane parts continued in the same direction that the plane was flying and flew out the other side of the building," because you're forgetting what you're saying was a plane crashing into the south face of WTC 2. If it had been a plane crash, there would have been debris bouncing off the building.

No debris? No plane crash.
*****
17) So we have the Knights Templar here? That is so cool. I suggest we do everything we can to promote this meme!
As anyone noticed the high percentage of cat avatars/name references at JREF? It seems higher than the population at large.

I am sure there must be some deep (and sinister) explanation behind this. As my contribution I would like to point out the Knights Templars were accused of worshipping a cat like creature (in some descriptions it seemed a bit like a Sphinx - but I think the sphinx was buried and poorly visible back then).
*****
18) I guess building debris no longer has mass.
Visualize this bro....
Put you math off to the side………
Think of the ! as a story in the building, we are down to 9 stories designed to hold the weight of 90 stories above it, there is only a cloud of dust and few bits of steel above floor 9. Yet it still falls at almost the speed of gravity where is the mass pushing it down..

19) This is what I tell people who wonder why they can't find the sex video of me with Natalie Portman that I'm always bragging about.
I suggest that you look on Google. If you can't find it there very easily then it is being censored.
*****
20) What a dastardly plot it is to convince us that water will boil.
Another question - is sucking air bubbles out of water an exothermic or endothermic process?
re-inforce scholastic indoctrination!!! in other words "brainwashing" students get a passing grade if they say/write "boiling" on midterm/final exam papers instead of water bubbles eventually some of these students endup becoming
high school teachers/university professors themselves and repeat the cycle with their own students.

11) Youtube login time blows the deal
16) The plane should have bounced
19) Google must have it unless it was censored

:big:

5,6,9. I went with the ones that made me laugh out loud.

I see one particular poster is well represented in this month's offerings... *snickers*

I voted for 4 and 7 mainly on the basis that I know what the posters imagined they were talking about, but for sheer self-delusional grandeur I like 13 best.

Dave

Cats

I had to vote for the Cats and windmills. (I never took Physics or Calculus so some of the science ones go right over my head.)

BTW, thank you Travis for doing this each month! I appreciate the effort you put into it...

At first glance, I didn't like too many of these, but some are growing on me. "Boiling is not real" is interesting, as is "windmills make wind." #2 (and maybe #1 and #18) perfectly illustrates the non-intuitive nature of physics. Incredulity abounds. Set your math aside, bro...

Damn it, I forgot to vote for 9! How could I forget to do that! Must have been those hydroelectric dams that are there because water collected in giant pools.

I kind of liked all the Apollo stuff this month.

Had to vote for #17 because I'm a sucker for long disbanded Crusader Orders and I'm picturing you all sitting at your computers wearing chainmail and white tabbards with red crosses on them. Also, for some reason, giant, bushy mustaches. Even the ladies.

Especially the ladies....

Wow, Rogue1stclass, are you watching me? That's exactly how I am dressed, including the 'tache. :o

I'm no crusader.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

13) because I've never seen that many 8 letter words strung together

16) because we have a PhD explaining what amounts to "the peek a boo" effect, you can't see it so it isn't there.

Number 20 made me want to shoot myself, so I have to vote for that. None of the others made me suicidal, but Mr(s) Hypothetical Space Weapon of Doom in number 5 is just...well.

Those two and the cat/templar guy, because I don't even like cats.
