Nothing better to do...?

Fascinating. Apparently some people believe that the biggest problem in the world today is the number of times the "f-word" is used in South Park or the fact that "demons" are depicted in Lord of the Rings: http://www.capalert.com/capreports/index.htm

Who has/takes the time to count four letter words and other alleged "blasphemies" in films anyway? Surely there must be more productive things to do for a person concerned with the state of the society?

What a hoot..

From review of Bruce almighty.:

...one use of the most foul of the foul words

Hmmmm.. I wonder what that might be...?

I have a feeling it's not " ignorance " ....

Like you said, who takes the time to sit through a movie and count all this stuff?

I believe it was the Lord Jesus who said: " If your eye offends you, pluck it out... " I would think one might extend the same reasoning to the ear....

I wonder if they have lost any reviewers to the dark side?

I'm thinking about volunteering to review for them, with the idea that it will spare their staff from being exposed to the possibility of eternal damnation..

Or how about this - from the review of Lord of the Rings:

Offense to God (O)(2):

thousands of demonic beings of various sort, some extremely graphic
many uses and portrayals of wizardry/sorcery
many threats by unholy things
multiple battles with sorcery using sorcery, some very, very graphic
many attacks by evil beings, some (especially one) very, very hideous
portrayal that being stabbed by an evil being's sword will make the victim evil
many instances of demonic faces/eyes
unholy control of the elements to fight evil
claims of immortality
ability to choose unholy mortality or immortality
many mystic voices
sorcery to open mountain wall
light by sorcery

The above appears to indicate that the reviewer actually believes in the existence of evil beings and sorcery (since it is so important not to depict such things on screen).

Gee, I wonder what they'd think of Morrowind?

I had to battle through half-a-dozen sorcery-wielding "ash slaves" to confront and battle an equally sorcerous vampire named Dagoth Favaon. His lair is full of ritual containers containing corpse-meat.
And I robbed him blind after killing him, too.....

You should really check out the page of the clown who apparently heads this up...

ChildCare Action Project (CAP): Christian Analysis of American Culture

I'm sure it's all pretty funny, but item # 4 caught my attention..

Back to School Special
This page is entirely for parents and grandparents of school-aged children to help you identify any signs and signals of interest in occultism/Satanism.
Mr. Religious tolerance himself ( Tai Chi ), will be pleased to learn they include his " Yin Yang " symbol.
Also the light portion is good and the dark is evil. Soooo, you would expect the occult groups to latch onto this emblem to represent their opposition to God's Truth and especially His Law.
..............................
The symbol is also used by some to make a sexual statement of "69" which I will not discuss any further.

No need to discuss it further... Let your dirty little minds take it from here.....:D

This site is incredible. The reviewers make no differentiation between whether a thing is presented in a good way, or a bad way. If an idea is presented at all, it's bad because it's bad to even think about them.

Here's a doozy from the Spiderman review:
On an outing to Columbia University's Science Department, amidst even more tormentings Peter gets bitten, graphically, by a special spider. One of fifteen like none others on the planet. Specially engineered genetically. Yes, there is presentation and discussion of evolution in this film. Indeed, some pictorial display of DNA sequences being completed to form a new species is shown. But it's a movie. It is not proof. Soon Peter starts to feel the effects of the spider bite and begins to discover some new powers and abilities.
HA!

And one from the Dungeons and Dragon's movie:
Regarding the breastplate worn by Kristen Wilson, it is one thing to wear protective armor, but to sculpt it to exactly duplicate the female anatomy is another thing entirely. Due to the level of detail on it, I will not believe it was for any purpose but to include "sex" in the program without using live models. And, no, it is not at all the same as a male wearing a breastplate sculpted to make him look as if he had only 1% body fat.
I saw this movie (unfortunatly) and this girls armor was very plain. Methinks someone got a funny feeling in his naughty bits looking at a suggestion of boobies.

This says it all...

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and complete Word of God.
[2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20]

I love this site. I've been using it for years to decide which films to see. If CAPAlert man hates it, it's bound to contain something cool.

As far as I can remember, the only film ever to score 100 is Mary Poppins:
http://www.capalert.com/capreports/marypop/marypop.htm

However, he still feels he has to justify liking the film:

"While there were several occurences of "magic," there was nothing evil or sinister about any of the "magic." Mary could have been angelic. While some might consider the "We won't go to sleep!" from Michael to Mary Poppins to be arrogance and/or impudence, the obstinence was NOT at his parents. All instances of Jane and Michael taking issue with parental authority (e.g., the song) were with respect and even apology. I cannot find in the Bible anywhere God has a problem with children disagreeing with their parents but I can find a LOT of warnings against arrogance toward and rebellion against parents -- a LOT -- and with severe consequences ... and even more severe consequences for parents who abuse the authority and position He gave them."

Counting boobs and dirty words occurs because Christians are deviant perverts who feel guilty about being deviant perverts, so they subconciously pretend to hate porn and the like, while indulging their obsession in the name of 'research'.

As if the Bible didn't have enough violence and obscenities in it.

A very brief glance at this site, www.skepticsannotatedbible.com, (or indeed at the very Book itself) should make that aparent to anyone.

A personal favourite is the seduction of Lot (Gn 19:30 - 19:36). Now there's a real nice story for you!

For those of you who do not know it, have a look:

http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/gen/19.html#36
or
http://www.thereverend.com/brick_testament//genesis/the_seduction_of_lot/gn19_30.html

Thus spaketh the Lord on the subject of incest. Something to teach the kids, eh?

And these people dare to have concerns regarding the possible lack of morality of "Mary Poppins".:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Haven't you seen Dark Dungeons? D&D leads to devil worship!

While using all that time to count the offenses against god, couldn't they have spent just a little time trying to actually understand the plot?

This is too silly. Take a look at the review for "The Tigger Movie" It almost gets their highest rating, but not without some detractions for Tigger falling

Then read the review for Titanic. It lost all of its points for violence. "lost all of its starting 100 points due to multiple violent deaths by drowning" Uh, didn't real people die when the real Titanic sunk? Also, they didn't seem to like Kate Winslett's nude scene. Maybe they thought she was a little too overweight. too much skin
five instances of alcoholic drink: champaign as a dinner beverage and beer to celebrate. Weren't the people aboard the boat adults? I can't go on...

I won't even get into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre; It was rated R, wasn't it?

for a real laugh, read the review of Zoolander :D

"The Santa Clause" - Offense to God: Christmas without Jesus
"The Rocky Horror Movie Show"... why do they bother...

Most of the writing there is a bit childish (see Sixth Sense "adult underwear" "gunshot injury with blood
" how else does one suffer a gun shot?, "one murder and one suicide" it is part of the story for god's sake, "body piercing" I can't even explain that one, "a child talking with dead people" isn't that what praying is about?) , but in its defense, it is a guide for otherwise ignorant parents to find movies they can let their kids see.

Duhhh! Anyone read about ' Noah's Ark ' lately? One of the supposedly ' cutesie ' Bible stories, that is featured in the youngest grades of Sunday School....

WHat is "the most foul of the foul words", and how can I best work it into conversation?

It isn't "Barbara Streisand", is it?

HOLY JESUS CHRIST ON A STICK! Do these people actually have lives???

Honestly, I thought it was a fundie's calling that made them ban any and all sorts of entertainment.

Why did these freaks go to the theaters?
