I turned on AOL, and was startled to see an article on the mains screen asking if Noah's Ark had been found. AOL isn't exactly an uncritical source, but it isn't the Weekly World News, either. Unlike most ark discovery stories, this one had pictures.
Some quick searching revealed the following information, all based on teams of Christian "archeologists". I put it in quotes because I don't know if any of the finders had archeology credentials. I do know that Josh McDowell was with them, and he isn't an archeologist I'm aware of.
The team found a large, approximately 400 feet (ark sized), pile of black rock on a high mountain in Iran. The black rock contained some sort of marine fossil. The team says the rock has been tested, and was determined to be petrified wood.
The finding has been reported by lots of news organizations.
I didn't see a thread here, so I figured it was a good reason to start one. As news trickles out, I'm sure that people here will want to post links to the skeptical stories that I'm sure will be short and found on page 17 of the newspaper.
Here's an ABC News link.
