Noah's Ark a Reality

Important note: this ark is only 20% as big as the one described in the bible.

Which makes me wonder what the point is? He built a ship. Quite impressive, hoenstly, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm deeply disappointed that he doesn't have scale models of the dinosaurs on display.

Wasn't it shown that an Ark as large as it was mentioned in the Bible would sink or fall apart under it's own weight?

Anyway, I doubt that this mini-Ark will do much to re-kindle fundamentalist Christianity in Europe. It might fly here in certain regions of the United States (cough, cough, the South, cough), but Europeans for the most part seem to have their heads on straight when it comes to matters of religion... that is, doing their best to ignore it entirely.

From the CNN article:
"Just a few weeks ago we saw Al Gore on television ... saying that all Holland will be flooded" by rising sea levels, she said.

"I don't think the man who made this ever expected that global warming will become (such an important) issue -- and suddenly having the ark would be meaningful in the middle of Holland."

Having the ark will be meaningful? So they think they're going to pile on the population of Holland and float around on the boat if global warming causes widespread flooding there?

Sorry, but the correct word here is "meaningless".

The thread title is misleading. I have two sticks of wood in my garage - does that prove the cross is real?

Wait a minute - Are you saying you have two sticks made from the real cross?!

What should we be weeping about, g4macdad? The stupidity of people?

All I need to hear is that magic word.

"WE"

So ironically followed by "The stupidity of people? "

Man, there is one born every minute.

his wife designed it. thats what it said on aol news anyway, and she thinks its a retarded idea too. lol. he just got the dimensions from the bible. Either way, that sucker would have to be much, much bigger to fit 2 of every animal on it.

I recall reading something like that. A wooden ship with the biblical dimensions would not be able to support its own weight and that it would have to be made of metal in order to be structurally sound.

Wish I could remember where I read that. Sorry.

Here's an interesting page on problems with the ark
