This one is new to me. Belief in evolution leads to Nazism. Uh... or something...

An upcoming television special produced by a Christian broadcaster that features conservative pundit Ann Coulter blames Charles Darwin for Adolf Hitler, RAW STORY has learned.

"Author and Christian broadcaster Dr. D. James Kennedy connects the dots between Charles Darwin and Adolf Hitler in Darwin’s Deadly Legacy, a groundbreaking inquiry into Darwin’s chilling social impact," announces a press release issued by Florida's Coral Ridge Ministries. I had a good laugh yesterday. I was flipping channels and passed by some religious network. Some clod said he was going to disprove evolution. He then proceeded to spend the next few minutes quoting from the bible, nothing else. That proves it, ok, good enough for me! Yeah, sure, ya betcha!
 
Coulter apparently takes her cues from Harun Yahya.

Sometimes when I see the religious fundamentalism out there and its effects, I wonder just how far we have come as a species.:(
 
Does this mean we get to blame Jesus for all the killings done in his name?

What bothers me the most is that people can make these bizarre claims and no one says anything. However, if I were to claim that if there were no Jesus, there would have been no Hitler, I'd recieve death threats on a regular basis. I'd be booed back to the stone age. Perhaps we need to become a more vocal group?

Even if you want to attribute the deaths cause by Hitler to evolution, what does that prove about evolution? It doesn't disprove the science nor does it mean that evolution has any moral value, either good or bad.

The number of people killed by bullets isn't an argument against the science of ballistics.

No just say that if there where no concervatives focused on family values there would be no hitler. It is easy to reverse this arguement

Well, if you argue like a loony or only with loonies... perhaps. But, I understand where you're going, you lend credibility when you debate such a person. The problem is, you have a "doctor" making the claim. In addition, you have Ann Coulter who is the world's largest *****, but has some people convinced that she's a sane individual. You give her too much of a leash and she can really start lowering some IQs out there.

I think the whole "don't validate them with a response" approach is proving itself to be very, very flawed. The fact that Coulter constantly gets air time to spout lies and hate while on her talking-head freak show/book promoting tours just goes to show that, even if people avoid engaging her debate, she still gets her message out. Heck, look how much more steam the creationists have gotten over the past ten years.

The rational thinkers have to remember that, just because it's obvious and self-evident to us, it doesn't mean that everyone else realizes it.

I have a question about Dr. Kennedy's upcoming TV special. In it, according to various news stories, he states:

"To put it simply, no Darwin, no Hitler," says Dr. Kennedy. "Hitler tried to speed up evolution, to help it along, and millions suffered and died in unspeakable ways because of it."

I was wondering, since this very same God we worship will, Himself, ultimately torture and perform unspeakable acts on those very same Jews (certainly putting them into a lake of molten sulfurous lava counts), what's the big deal? This minor diversion of a few years in their glorious, unending suffering in Hell certainly can't be that bad, relatively speaking.
